5 f***ing years and you'd expect them to at least be able to invite a seiyuu. GACC's been around what? 2-3years? and they had Jun Fukuyama come over.

Comments like this get me all worked up and upset. I wish I can explain to you guys how unfair this comparison is, but it's not in my power to do so.

Like Fyonne said, CF's main focus is the doujins and artists. A lot of cons here care more for the gaming side, like you can see from ACF, ACGC, etc. but do not really help out with local artists. CF's main purpose is to cover this under-appreciated group. Cosplay in itself is actually an art, so they also extend support for cosplaying. CF has always had the largest amount of doujin booths, they always made doujin circles the priority.

I'm an art major myself, I've been supporting, attending and now volunteering for the last 6 years, buying local doujins in support, selling my own. I know there's a lot of room for improvement, but I've seen them try to overcome it.

My comments are NOT on behalf of CF, these are my own opinions. Do not in any way think that I represent them in speaking to the public.

And this is why CF and LYN will never get along.

This however, is MY own unharnessed opinion. Sure GACC does have seiyuus and singers coming and yeah, i think why CF can't do the same. Yeah, GACC has a biggger budget but CF labels itself as a premier event at the end of the year in Malaysia. Do take note that the highlight of CF is now no longer doujin circles. Most people i come across go to CF because of the cosplay events on the second day.

So where's the contradiction?

I'm not denying you the right to explain how unfair my comparison is. But do take a further look at my comments AFTER that. I'm not going to b**** that CF should get a seiyuu though i wish they would do the same IF possible.

I'm sorry but I don't see how the main highlight aren't the doujin circles/artists. There's Artist Booth competitions, Art Competitions, hopefully art exhibitions and also art workshops. Of course the Cosplay Competition is there too, but there's only one cosplay oriented event as opposed to the other events. Just because majority attend for a different reason does not change the main purpose of CF.

I cannot deny some do go for the cosplays only (cosplayers and non-cosplayers alike). But hey it's kind of like our own Comiket, their main purpose is the doujins, but lots do go just to cosplay/see cosplays. There's no controlling the turnout, and as not many ACG fans are artists I guess not many will be interested in the art, but CF has always acted as a platform for the local artists to have a chance to showcase and sell their work and maybe make a name for themselves, regardless of how the response is towards the local doujin scene.

I'm with you on being happy the location is not in the middle of nowhere this time around. I didn't like Sri Sedaya much, Times Square was good but sempit and not to mention the rempits harrassing cosplayers. There was a bunch of them sitting on the car park entrance obstructing my group from transporting our booth items. =(

If I have a large wad of cash to donate, instead of inviting seiyuus I'd invite mangakas XD (Obata Takeshi I still want to meet you in person someday...)

Yea, there's no way of pleasing everybody. But they do try. =)

I don't want to comment on internal issues because well, I'm not involved in that, but I'm curious about the elitism issue. Think you can PM me about the details? Because well, I'd like to hear 2 sides of a story before judging, and feedback is always good.
