you should add on a management/it diploma.. then you can progress to management level..

sorry, i dont mean diploma. i meant after you get your diploma, you can either work first, or continue to pursue a degree with an additional management module. refer to this . its just an example though, as i'm not sure if your institution offers this option. in order to move up to management rank, i think you will need some sort of qualifications that includes management. but apart from that, experience is vital too. so you can work first as a mechanic to gain experience first and perhaps later on look to study part time if you wanna get promoted. if not, i think it'll be hard to be a supervisor or manger without the necessary qualifications.

Added on November 3, 2008, 8:08 pmyea TS, basically with a diploma you can be a service advisor. the role of this position is you attend to the customer and ask what prob they're facing, then you check the car and hand over the job to the mechanic to fix it..

basically you'll be dealing more with the customers and less the car compared to a mechanic..
