Sorry i don't quite understand... if i have 3 partition , 30GB(window xp ) , 10GB (free fat32) and 40GB (free NTSF).
If i want to install to my second partition 10GB ? how do i install ?
What is ext3 ? why do i need to allocate 100mb for New partition # ? and what is a swap partition ?
Sorry , i am totally new , just downloaded ubuntu 6.10 cd version.

Well, from my experience of looking in the configurations of most linux servers..
swap partition size is the double of the ram size...
*
So , for example if i have 512mb ram , i need to set it to 1GB swap ?
