any opinions on Novell Linux Desktop?
I've got a near-dead WIndows XP HDD, and a friend tossed me a NLD 9.0 DVD. Was thinking of jumping ship into Linux.
Any opinions? Or any other recommendations should LND is not up to it?

i have download ubuntu linux live cd (.iso), then i burn it using nero and make it as bootable disk...but i cannot boot it using my laptop...why ha...my friend said there is diiferent way to make bootable cd for linux... can someone help me about this
You have to change the computer boot sequence in order to run the live CD.This is how to do it.
Insert the live CD into your CD-ROM. Restart your computer, press and hold Del key. This will bring you to a blue screen setting page (eg. Phoenix-Award BIOS CMOS Setup Utiliy). Go to Advanced BIOS Features, press Enter, go to Boot Sequence, 1st Boot Device, select CD-ROM. Press Esc, exit to the main page. Go to Save & Exit Setup. After computer restart, Ubuntu logo will appear.
