just tried fedora 13 yesterday... its yum package management is slooowwww.. slow as slowpoke i can say update just stuck at 20kB/s while on ubuntu/linuxmint or any debian based distro i can get 45kB/s.. and yes i know fedora can use apt-get combined with synaptic package manager, and i've done that already, but the problem comes from its sloooww repo server.lol. so today i'm back with linuxmint 9 lxde This post has been edited by axxer: Sep 19 2010, 01:45 PM

QUOTE(powerwoot @ Jan 17 2011, 10:19 AM) moonOS, a new distro forked of Ubuntu now has gained some attention from reviewers. Said to be in par with Linux Mint 10 » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « and the best is, this distri is originated from Cambodia. Good looking, free http://moonos.org/Review http://cristalinux.blogspot.com/2011/01/mo...ake-review.htmlNow I am thinking about our OS that has a price of RM100++ nice, indeed very pleasant in the eyes that green wallpaper with black panel reminds me of default mint theme before julia

QUOTE(azrash @ Dec 12 2013, 04:53 AM) I have an older version of Lubuntu running on Pentium 3 1.6ghz with 512 ram. Currently thinking of going for lighter weight distribution. Perhaps puppy Linux, or slax or porteus. The latter two are much nicer UI wise as compared to puppy Linux. The system is for Web browsing for my younger sister. try slitaz, super lighweight at only 30mb, and got fully functional gui too. really suitable for web browsing.
