QUOTE(cybersonic23 @ Nov 1 2008, 09:56 PM) some people do multitasking like multiple word applications, multiple excel applications and multiple other apps... XD like my office, almost all pc in my office are dual monitor, as we need to view a lot of screens at the same time, not feasible to keep switching tabs... this is correct. I'm currently using dual 17" lcd with my C2D rig....been running this setup for the past 2 weeks or so...while waiting to get a 22" lcd...IMO, very good for multi-tasking....surfing LYN on 1 screen, surfing DCM on another.... |

i think most LCDs can go 75hz....what i understand is that the higher the vertical refresh rate, the better....take CRTs for example...thay can go 100hz on some units....
and also, the higher, the less the "headache" should be.... |

QUOTE(qwerty79 @ Nov 4 2008, 05:20 AM) When comparing lcd monitor with glossy screen and normal (forget what it call), I like the glossy screen. Image look sharper and nicer. But I don't like the reflection on the screen. If got lighting from behind, can see the light reflection. yupyup...can also comb ur hair while surfing the net.... anyway...which would u guys choose, between the 2: LG226 or the 2253LW? QUOTE(desmond1310 @ Nov 7 2008, 03:32 PM) Guys, I'd like to ask; is anyone here using a DVI-D Dual Link cable? have u changed the input of ur monitor.....as in selecting the input signal?I bought that cable sometime ago and tried it on my LCD, but there's no input. I then went to my friend's place to try on his Dell 17" monitor and too no input detected. I then decided to send it back to the forumer i bought it from; ngbh. He tested the cable and now says that it's working on his monitor. What in the world is going on? Is there a possibility that me and my friend's monitor don't support Dual Link cables? sometimes, the LCD won't be able to auto detect input signals, cases like when u were running the analog connector(D connector) for a while, then when u upgrade the cable to DVI connector, the LCD may not be able to switch automatically. U would have to go to ur OSD menu and change...on Dell LCDs, there's a button to scan the signals...analogue(D) or digital(DVI/HDMI) signals and display appropriately... AFAIK la... if i'm wrong, very sorry...can't help.... |

@narutokuibi,
add abit more, you could get the dell 2409....there're afew forumers here using this model...check their feedbacks...all quoted as good, or at least acceptable... if i'm not mistaken, dell's selling ard rm10xx....so it's not so far compared to ur budget.... since u could get 4870... my 22" can "almost" open 2 spreadsheets side by side...but still not really displaying the "full" view....not cukup "ooommppphhh".... for 24", i believe one can view 2 simultaneously...and nicely.... check out dell la... or other models for that matter...i'm sure u wouldn't regret it....don't believe...ask the otais here who's using 24"....hehe This post has been edited by ravewar: Nov 13 2008, 12:07 PM |

yeah...that's the question that everyone's asking....wtf is e-IPS....
and also...dell was known to have a spec on a model of the model used IPS, then later changed to s-pva... not that i'm complaining, since it's still "better" than the usual TN panels... anyhow, for buyers, pls check dell's website...the price of rm949 is until 26th jan!!! |

QUOTE(studwo @ Jan 23 2009, 03:05 PM) What is E-IPS technology display? E-IPS display technology is based on the technical characteristics of the new IPS LCD panel. It is characterized by its 178 ° wide viewing angle, sharper colour , image without smearing. E-IPS panel used cost-optimized panel structure, TN have the same brightness as well as 72% of color gamut, E-IPS is characterized by the largest of its levels in the same plane, which is different from an ordinary LCD panel electrode therefore, no matter what state is E-IPS panel liquid crystal molecules it is always parallel with the screen so that thanks for the translation...studwo and komag...it could reduce light transmission rate so it's backlight could be reduced and increase the viewing angle, the whole point of up to 178 °, so as to ensure a clear picture, brilliant colors and delicate flicker-free image quality and stability so as to avoid and reduce the use of computers brought about by the eyes and mental and physical fatigue, allowing consumers to enjoy whole-heartedly E - IPS technology . WAAA took 20 minutes ++ to translate this ...Please dont flame me if my translation is bad (chinese computer term is weird ).. Hope evry1 can benefit from this . this is what i'm looking for, of course it's not detailed enough...but good enough for the moment... so the e-IPS panel is a newer breed of IPS huh... Added on January 23, 2009, 8:26 pm QUOTE(vearn27 @ Jan 23 2009, 03:13 PM) I'm really outdated, anyone can provide me more information regarding IPS panel or perhaps any review that state how different and better IPS panel compared with other panels? boss,very sorry for being a noob, but frm what i read and found, the comparisons of the 3 main types of LCD panels, taken frm this site: LCD panel technology This post has been edited by ravewar: Jan 23 2009, 08:26 PM |

QUOTE(minghao @ Jan 23 2009, 08:28 PM) Would like to ask izzit my Sharp Aquos R3 is also similar IPS?It's written there with high viewing angle. if it states 178deg viewing angle...it's prolly a VA or IPS panel...anyway, from the translation of the KTC brand, the reviewer assumed that e-IPS panels are an upgrade to s-IPS panels...as the KTC's using the panels from LG.PHILIPS LCD LM201W01(utilized in Dell 2007WFP) and the only difference between the KTC spec and the Dell spec was the BW response time...5ms for e-IPS and 8ms for s-IPS......
