its better to categorize according to HU, speakers and amplifiers. Some car audio makers are better in HU, some better in speakers.

clarion d2 is not consider a pure deck btw. Its a 4 way active HU. Pure deck Clarion HU includes Clariond D1, Clarion DRX 9255, Clarion DRX 9255EX and Clarion DRX 9255EXL. Other 'cheaper' pure deck includes eclipse old model.. which i cant remember

if u use back 6.5 inch, definitely u can use back the door panel. Bigger size no gurantee though as the side clearance is not tat wide

which vios version? E or G? E u can just direct swap out the oem HU. G - being a double din, u need to get the side bracket and pocket drawer from service center. I bought mine around rm100 plus few years ago.

robin, of coz not new la.... some + points (i had use p80/7998/9835)
- excellent flexible crossover - unlike p80  - 8v preout- they sound much much better than my previous 7998 which i find it lacking, thin and dry sounding. (rest of the system stays the same btw) - USB input - big plus for me since im using this most of the time. Plus getting a usb isnt very expensive compared to mp3 player.. |
