U guys. Those who labeled themselves "iPhone Support Team", should really be more supportive.
Start to accept the fact that NOT everybody knows whats LYN or "Forum". Some people just don't know that they need to search, read FAQ and etc when they first get in. Even if they do, just guide them to where they belong. Now that's newbie friendly.
The way I see it now, everytime a noob post something, one self proclaim "LYN iPhone Support Team Member" will come in, make some sarcastic remarks, and the rest will be either joining the bash or cheering along. Now that unprofessional. This sub forum (iPhone) looks more like a kopitiam group thread than an open forum.
Someone starts a thread and ask a repeated question = bash. Someone open a thread to tell everyone that they have a new iPhone = "Oh wow congratulations nice to hear that hehe great welcome to the group!"
Furthermore, the FAQ is not really complete. I know I should make suggestion instead of just criticizing it, but my last two paragraph is why I don't make suggestion (except for this one). Yeah, I'll be expecting some flaming for this.
Hi grunge. We were never the ''iPhone Support Team'' or "LYN iPhone Support Team Member" or "sifus" or "self proclaim mods" and we never claim to be. I would think that everyone here would not like to be associated with those titles. We are just forumers like you, hanging out and chillin' in this forum.
Due to the reason why noobs get flame back then is because they are not willing to read the pinned threads as most required Q's/queries are answered with proper solutions and with links etc. We have no doubts that noobs don't read pinned threads..hahaha. I'm not sure why in the first place they don't read. That's kinda disturbing.
Also, we did not have a mod around for sometime to close threads, delete flamed threads etc as how other forum does it. Thus, the whole forum becoming more like a junk/pasar malam with noobs opening new threads rather than them opening in threads made for their queires.
Grunge, we would warmly welcome you to help noobs whenever you can as they open new threads or related threads to ask Q's.
Regarding the FAQ as not complete, what would you suggest to add on? Do share.
Thanks

@davidgary
I think the iphone for dummies thread is excellent, almost all that people would normally ask is listed. However, it's still interesting that none actually check there before posting.
Maybe you would like to sticky those repetitive topics such as iphone unlocking, jailbreaking, appsupport, buying itunes gift cards (hmm).
Then perhaps newbies that comes in would see theres already an unlocking thread sticked on the top and won't post any such questions

just a suggestion.
I was told by mod that to many stickies/pinned threads are not required as one or two threads with the required infos/links will do. So, we can't do much as noobs will somehow choose not to read pinned threads. So do choose the report button and report them.

i have some suggestion on winterboard thread. winterboard is break into 2 separate threads.
1. first one will be pin on first page. it is winterboard tips n tricks on how to mod icon, background, clock font, etc... more like tutorial. easy for newbie to reference.
2. second will be "winterboard of the month". where people can show of their creativity here together attached with their custom wallpaper, icon, etc...n we will select a winner of the month n pin at first page of next month winterboard. this will attract more n more people to learn how to mod their screen.
Good suggestion mate. Do ask master winterboard gengstapo if that's cool with him. I opened Winterboard due to his support and we agree to go ahead..hahhaha.

i have a suggestion. since there are lots of ppl posting a new topic which is involve new information, update infomation and iphone problem, why dont we make a rule & regulation on header topic. example; question using <wta>, new information use <info>, discuss use <discuss> and problem use <problem>
the other suggestion is adding specific detail for user problem. example;
1st/2nd gen iphone:
firmware:
problem detail:
screenshot:
problem occur time:
comment (other info):
Very good suggestion indeed. If all of us can start doing so, this might work.
Regarding the details of use problem, i took off "problem occur time" as we don't really need this option.

Maybe we can put this up on the pinned threads if nokia2003 or friends don't mind but however, we need everyone to agree on this to go ahead.
