Hey All

As you all know that iPhone subsection needs lots of upgrades as most of the regulars are tired here. So this is an official thread whereby you could post your suggestions on what sort of things that should be done whereby members can help other members without any spamming and /b/ posts such as +1 and so on.

I do have some proposal

1) Getting Started Guide - It would be nice to see someone wrote a guide or collect all the infromation on getting iPhone to work with our Guide

2) Must Have Applications List - Some of recommendations by our members

3) Themes and Customisation - Such as by posting iPhone Skin mods and Icon mods whereby users can share

4) The Regular FAQ - Whereby it would be a one stop place for members to refer to the frequently asked questions


So what are you thoughts , do kindly post here in order to upgrade the standard of this sub-section

My suggestion:

I will be working with representatives such as davidgary73 from your section too, regarding merging, sticking, deleting crap, unwanted and redundant threads, etc etc etc.

I am also offering up myself for PM. Feel free to PM me for any additional suggestions regarding iphone section. I'm usually lurking in LYN 24 hours a day, unless on holiday so i will let a representative know and such.

This has been discussed long time ago...that's why those old folks are sick to anwser those repeated thread and just reply as +1.
Hahaha.....i'm also lazy to login everyday due to repeating thread.

Please pin Iphone Club V8 and close V7.

all these have been done previously and you're pretty slow if i might presume as a mod for this section.

and all these have been done by davidgary73, and kudos to his work but he had taken down most of the threads currently, thanks to the "enforced" regulations here.
and thats why we choose him as a mod cuz he is able-minded to do all the stuffs u have aforementioned before even u guys can say "Hi"

Yup, all these have been done before, but the newbies simply ignore them and post their queries touch-and-go nonetheless. Making it official does not negate the fact that you are unaware of what had happened in here, and that alone make the current moderators ineffective in looking after this section.

We ask for pinning of certain threads, some were entertain, some were ignored and left to drown to the later pages. Later when the newbies sees that their queries not being answered, they assume their normal routine of asking those questions whose answers are in those threads that was requested to be pinned before.

DavidGary had been selfless in his effort in curbing unnecessary repeating and redundant questions, but you can only do so much when both the newbies and the Powers-That-Be here decides to put obstacles in his path.

And what's making me curious is, Why only now? Were we that LOW in priority that only now only the ones who are supposed to look after this forum are mobiliving frantically to clean up an already ugly mess? To me it is easy, if you cant step up to the duties that are entrusted to you, then step down, let others do it.

precisely, i have brought this matter up numerous times. as a matter of fact, those agendas suggested by prasys has already long been accomplished before this. the only substance lacking, was for someone reliable to enforce them.


but no point digging the past, i'm just glad that there will be an upcoming revamp.

i suggest we pin "technical solution" topic with most common solution when technical error occurs before same thread keep showing up

Come on guys ... give bro Baronic a chance since he's just promoted. He also said will be working closely with davidgary regarding any iPhone issues. Lets just say its in the trial period .. if its still not going as it should then maybe they should re-think back of having a dedicated mod here.

Things can't change over night.

i agree with frozz. let it be 1 mod here 1st, if he is too busy or cant handle then we will elect another mod to assist him.

now what we can do is help Baronic to clear the mess by press REPORT button.

Well clearly the subforum does need a lot of change. I am sure that Baronic and the rest of the crew would try our best to keep this forum as clean as possible. The least you guys could do the help our burden is by hitting the report button on whereby appropriate. This would make things easier for you and for us too !

Thanks Baronic for all the efforts and time! We need a FAQ as most of the questions are asked before. Pinned it and put a big RED NOTICE on top of the iphone section so that they can READ before posting similar question again. And if possible, pointless posts and useless posts should be deleted too coz it doesnt contribute to the discussion. Keep reporting!

excellent idea. feel free to make this FAQ. U guys are the pros, so i'll leave it up to u. or maybe u can ask davidgary73, since he's your rep. form your own taskforce or something. once its done, i'll pin it up.

why don't you guys up davidgary73 as MOD for this iphone section only?everyone know how his contribution in here.

Well the FAQ was there long time ago. What I meant is to get a FAQ to answer questions such as

"how do I run XYZ program , syncing and all other basic stuff. The FAQ done by blackchides was pinned because it did contain lots of information. Unfortunately, I think most of us didn't realize the importance of a FAQ !

we have no authority on this. admin and staff onli got, and i've forwarded the issue to their notice. this is our little project to do something meanwhile. also like i said, if liaison is really effective, then admins maybe will even be more inclined to promote him.

By the way, I think we need to define what is legal what is illegal to post in iphone section. It is very vague so far. Widget, themes, app from cydia, mobileinstallation patch, tweaks to use VOIP app on 3G, quickpwn, winpwn, pwntools and etc. Which one is legal and illegal to post it? Need to define all of these so that next time there will be NO DEBATE nemore on it. Thanks.
