do you try with other source? different PC, mp3 player etc.?

you can try to unplug any input to ur speaker. without input, you try to see if turn up the volume still giving you the sound.
if no sound, then probably the sound is come from your PC. then you should try with other PC or soundcard to check if the problem still exist.

BTW, is the "tssskk" sound very loud?

any idea when it will reach malaysia?? i am looking for a 2.0 setup right now...

i guess probably for computer without good soundcard. you will probably get a better sound compare to onboard sound, perhaps.
doesn't matter on 2.0/2.1 or 5.1/7.1.

if you have good soundcard, analog will be better.

and of course like alessamourner said is less messy cable also.

personally i dont think it will improve a lot for C3, coz C3 easily reach its limit before the a good soundcard/DAC can show its true potential.
but anywhere, there still some improvement, my C2 also have some improve using a DAC + tube preamp, and it already reach its limit, time for me to upgrade

suppose when plug in the headphone, the speaker will mute, this works for my C2.
i think the headphone jack is giving you the problem. probably the bypass switch inside is spoilt.

honestly with RM200, you can hardly get a good soundcard, i think S530D is a better choice since it have a built-in DAC which i think is better than most of the onboard soundacrd, so you can save some money at the moment and invest a better soundcard later.

how do you connect it? you are use analog or digital from from xonar d2/dvd player to the s530d?
also what kind of dvd player are you using?

ok, so that's the reason that it doesn't sounds that good.
when using analog input to your s530d, xonar d2 can produce good SQ because it have a good DAC circuit on the soundcard, while normal dvd player doesn't have a fantastic DAC inside, so it can't produce the SQ as good as xonar d2. basically this shows the importance of DAC and that's why a good CDP selling at those price. it makes difference.

just wonder if your dvd player have digital output? if yes maybe you cant try it with s530d and probably will give you better result.
you just need a good input to your s530d, then you can get good output. thats' simple if using analog input.

i think near field would be slighly different from S2000 because the sweet spot is smaller.
there should be few choices like : ESI, KRK, M-audio and Alesis (these are for budget user). Currently im using nEar05, before that im using C2, sure alot of improvement from that. you can visit SMX for audition, they carry KRK, M-audio & Alesis.

btw, i bet that you wouldn't go for 2.1 setup after you already own the S2000.
S730D is good, but somehow the sonic presentation is different from 2.0 setup.
