What's the next up from E3100? Same/better vocal clarity but better bass expression? icon_question.gif

Only want 2.1. What's your recommendation? icon_question.gif

No limit brows.gif Saving now to upgrade. 1K? hmm.gif
I see S530 and S730 are Edifier upper range. Is the difference in quality worth it? Or get a bookshelf? sweat.gif
Love the E3100 vocal, but the bass quantity is not enough in proportion to the vocal. Eg. Cymbal and bass guitar too soft.
Using E3100 for music ( looking for better one ) and movie ( good enough to me ).

because if i compare it with a E3100 still E3100 wins, (in terms of sub only!) but to make it clearer, put S530D on low volume...

u kno wat i mean, each time i audition speaker, i walk away from the speaker 1-2metres, see whether it shakes me anot. E3100 sub capable of doing that.

well then you have to find speaker which has good midrange. subwoofer E3100 should be good enough. if u have M3300 its even worse.
u may want to try the new MX6021 or MX5021. even though they are not excellent, should provide value-for-money sound.

the other day i tested S530 and S730. definitely S730. S530 bass is too muffled and high. it doesnt go deep enough, perhaps at 50hz it bottlenecks already. S730 would be lower, but a sub that big should be even lower.

if u can find S2000V its a good one. i love its mid and high. too bad its rare. and there is S2000 which is better with external amp.

E3100's sub definitely can feel vibrations on the floor.
hmm.gif Perhaps I'm mistaking between bass and midrange sounds. The instrumental sounds I am looking for falls a lot on midrange? A better satellite over E3100's satellite should yield a better midrange?
My treble and bass preference are 60% and 50% respectively ( both knob can turn 1 full circle ). Turning bass knob higher will sounds muffled.

Also, does the audition allow to bring your own mp3/CD?
