After years of owning an Edifier S2.1D, last Friday was the first time I hook an on-board sound card (Dell Studio Hybrid, Intel chipset - Realtek Hi Definition) to it via SPDIF.

I have another PC using AV710, analog output to Aiwa NSX990 via Little Dot II+, and I found this set up producing better sound quality (sound stage) than the above setup. Maybe the Aiwa speaker is better, or maybe the AV710 DAC makes the difference.
