Anyone using DA5000. Planning to buy it next month. Hoping that somebody can help me clear my mind about this Speaker set. Please don't ask me to google cause I've done it already and now I like to know the comments from Malaysian users. Thanks~

Guys, I'm still puzzled why there's very few people using da5000 since it's a very good speaker. Am I missing something here.

Last night, I saw Da5000 Pro which is obviously an upgrade version (tweeters for each satellite).

Tested it, and satisfied with the sound produced by both the sub and the satellites. I'm not a pro so I need you guys to help with this, is there any particular reason why this speaker is very unpopular among the edifier fans.

Thanks in advance

Tested the Da5000 pro again today with my own mp3 player. I'm very impressed with the sub because it produced a very clean bass, which is what I've been searching for so long. The satellites didn't let me down either. Better clarity than Da5000. If it's not because of C6 I would have splashed my cash for this baby. hehe~

So again, do anyone know how much the c6 gonna cost?

I had a chance to visit lowyat today
and fortunately I get to play with this system fully laugh.gif

This system costs RM799
it sounded like c3 but with more bass
lots of functions, can play songs through usb thumbdrive and Micro SD card which is cool
got FM radio
can control treble, bass and subwoofer individually
can control surround sound volume
cool blue screen on the amplifier
can get pretty loud without distortion
comes with infrared remote which almost looked like DA5000 pro remote

can't wait to get one unit for myself
it's beautiful drool.gif

QUOTE(predicate undefined @ Nov 19 2009, 11:34 PM)
just a simple question.

I wanted to buy 5.1 system. from Edifier of course. now aiming for S550, or maybe just hcs5640 (to save some money). my question is, which one is better? to get 5.1 from Edifier or mini hi-fi from sony or other manufacturer. I watch movie a lot, and listen to songs all day long. before this I have edifier M3400 and really love it.sold to my fren last month.

so which one is better? to get mini hi-fi or PC speaker? because if I want to go for S550 it cost me more than 1k. afraid that it is a bad deal. I don't need loudness. just details, sound stage, sound separation, clarity, strong mid, tight bass, yada yada yada. so. which way should I go, please... help me notworthy.gif

I get a chance to test HCS5640/C6 and compare it with DA5000pro at ALL IT yesterday. I was testing it for one hour and I asked the sales person to mute all other speakers because there was no other customer and I told them I'm very serious about buying one of it. So it's fair to say I'm satisfied with the way I've tested it. The result? In terms of sound produced I should say Da5000PRO wins hands down. For me it produced much cleaner sound and it's long throw sub is better than the normal cube HCS5640 sub.

The material for both speakers sets are different; Natural wood for HCS5640 and Complete MDF wooden cabinet for Da5000pro (Sorry if the infromation is wrong).

QUOTE
MDF stands for Medium Density Fiberboard. It's made from waste from the lumber milling process. The scraps are ground down to a saw-dust like consistency and mixed with a glue compound then heated under pressure to form 4x8 sheets. It's warp resistant and takes paint well. It's also the stuff that most car stereo speaker boxes are made from. The density of the board allows for fairly higher pressure differences between the inside and outside without vibration or rattling making it ideal for such applications. "One of the reviews from the net."

From what the ALL IT sales person said to me, MDF can help produce a better bass sound while Natural wood can help produce a more natural sound. Also, he said MDF is better. I'm not adding anything, this is his exact words and sorry again if I helped spreading wrong information.

In terms of price, DA5000pro is RM100 (RM699) cheaper with more powerful Satelites and subwoofer, better material, but lack of external Amplifiers. It's your call. If it's me, Da5000 pro for sure. But picking a sound system is a subjective thing, so I advise you to go test it for yourself before you buy it.

Both also using MDF and long throw woofer.
The DA5000 Pro woofer sound definitely will better than Hcs5640 due to the RMS, Da5000 pro's RMS is higher than Hcs5640.

I googled and I stand corrected - the hcs5640 speaker set's material is MDF.

Mr Edifier, how bout the satellites, shouldn't it produce a better sound than Hcs5640 because from what I read, Da5000 pro's RMS is higher than Hcs5640.

For power wise, the DA5000 Pro definitely will pawn the hcs5640

Haha! I see what you did there. biggrin.gif

But again, I'm asking you about the satellites because you commented only about the sub quality so I thought maybe something with the satellites that made you ignore it.

don't forget about the built in radio biggrin.gif

Nothing against the C6 speaker set but i tested the FM radio and it didn't work. The sales person said the coverage is not very good in Lowyat whistling.gif

Haha, yeah it is really weird. You should've seen the guys face. He's like totally clueless and trying to blame the antenna 1st, then the other guy came and told me the coverage is not so good. doh.gif

If it's not because of speaker stands, I would have gotten home with the DA5000pro. tongue.gif Anybody who knows where to find cheap speaker stands, do let me know. Thanks~

My brother want to buy Da5000pro also. But he planned to put it in the living room. Can the speaker set be used in such a big place? (It's not very big, but still it's a living room)

Still got bass la...'0' is default flat setting, want to test how is the flat response...that shopkeeper just non-stop retune to max bass and treble to convince me, WTF, don act smart la, nearly want to scold him...  mad.gif  but even tune to max bass and treble the sound is still decent for me, not overwhelming at all, thats why i like it.

Does it produce a tight bass or is it something like Logitech's z5500's Sub? (Very deep bass, hate it)

How bout the sound clarity?

Ever tried testing it with some acoustic songs? How was it?

Do let me know your opinion and thanks in advance?

I'm migrating from 5.1 to 2.1 channels hence I planning on pairing my Xonar Essence with any of Edifiers top line products.
On the top of my head I gonna go for S530D but need advice from edifier users though sound is a subjective thing I need somebody to guide me with the Sub and Satellites SQ.

I don't like deep Subs like s730. I prefer tight bass since I love to hear the detail in songs that use twin paddles my preferred bands like As I lay Dying, In flames and COB (metal core and melodic death metal bands) do use it a lot but my ears are not bounded to certain type of musics only. I do enjoy every type of music.

I also like satellites with tweeter and clarity is very important for me, I believe S530D satellites have tweeters, right?

Any suggestion and advice before I buy the s530D?

My answer is no they're not. Having heard it myself and even had the chance to tune the sound, I can't really get the sub to "lower it's extra BOOM" to the overall sound. A shame since it's satellite really was something beyond my expectation. Maybe others have they're own opinion but for non basshead music lovers it's better if you guys audition this speaker thoroughly before you get it.

Hye there, nice to hear it. I'll be glad if you can share some small details on how was the performance in music and movies. Also, how much did you pay for it? THanks~
