my aim for next upgrade would be S330, but is it just me, or the price has increased? last saw few months ago it was RM399, but it was RM429 when i last checked on friday sad.gif

its been like 2 months from singapore.
last time i checked, early - mid 2008 the S330D MSRP is SGD199, C3 SGD180, MX5021 SGD200-220, AEGO M SGD220.

but, one day around Q3 2008 i visited SLS, and i've found one shop on 5th floor they selling C3 for SGD180 and S330D for SGD129(its for sale tag). i check the supplies they have quite a lot of boxes of S330D there.
i went next door and check S330D is still 199.  doh.gif

curious, i check at pricelist in internet from some parts of the world. comes out that in some countries, C3 price is higher than S330D. so i think the SGD129 S330D isn't a fake one...

Mr Edifier here stated that it's due to hefty tax that we can't enjoy such a lovely price sad.gif
ack, who wanna do a bulk for S330?????

Try playing around with DFX? Or some bass or audio enhancement software. I remember my Enzo 4000 bass is so-so only, but after enhancement is better.

Damnit IT Show no more S330. So I went to SLS...guess what...no crowd to squeeze with and they are selling cheaper than 'offer' price at IT Show. What rip off! Anyway its called S2.1M over there...why the name change between S2.1M and S330?

Testing the unit now at my home...sound is sweet. At only $116 it's a steal! But I have to carry from SLS to Bugis MRT, then from Bugis MRT to Pioneer, take bus to my house at JURONG WEST! Reach home found that my 640GB hard disk died and go to heaven liao...knnccb all my data from high school until now gone. Data recovery companies want to charge me RM2500 or $500 to recover the data...holy shit. And it's not even a head crash, probably a faulty pcb.

But anyway...relax my heart after listening to my new speakers...calm already. Wakaka.

i shall head to singapore end of this year and smuggle 1 back to malaysia for myself
S2.1M is the same as S330

it's been quite awhile since S330 was launched, yet the price never drops, and has increased from RM399 to RM429, gosh. i am tempted to get one, but contemplating whether to get S330 or S330D, using built-in Realtek ALC1200 chipset which comes with coaxial output. any suggestion on which to take, and where to get (at cheaper price of course) in Puchong/Damansara area? thanks

Why not considering C3 since it's witihin your budget?I'm using one now....and it's good smile.gif Mid range seems better than the S330D plus bigger satelite-more room for sound production. But on the downside, its base is pretty weak but definitely not lacking quality though.Yes,C3's satelites are much better than it's counterpart - looks/feels more like bookshelf icon_idea.gif (hifi-kaki dun flame me pls)

So far, most genre i tested it on sounded nice.Pop,rock, vocals, classical,R&B sounded nice with good dynamic range...although it could have been much better, but considering it's only RM400,it's a bargain:sweat: Bass has the quality but rather weak..Sorry i'm ain't an audiophile so dunno all the jargons/terms blush.gif

From what i auditioned in the shops,C3 loses out to S330D in terms of clarity but has better midrange performance.S330D's bass is more tight and powerful compared to C3 blush.gif although C3 has a 8" woofer compared to S330D's 6.5" woofer, which is quite embarrassing actually laugh.gif

But overall quite satisfied...at the same time, looking forward for my next speaker purchase tongue.gif

i have never auditioned C3 before, but i do love S330 for its sound quality and design smile.gif

S330, second hand unit though, reporting in smile.gif
pairing with on-board ALC1200 sound chip, any idea which budget sound card will make the speaker shines? or the ALC1200 is enough?

X-Fi Extreme Music is selling at garage sales music and audio section for rm180...that's the best you can get for low budget.

Dont get audigy or the SB Live series, wont make much of a difference
*
looking at Extreme Gamer Fatality now, does the additional X-RAM make any difference?

QUOTE(chchyong89 @ Mar 7 2010, 07:24 PM)
aiya, let me know ma, i can test the performance between onboard and any dedicated soundcard in front of you that day. tongue.gif

if you don't mind, i have one SQ210A modded a lot of caps and changed opamp for sale, which can smoke x-fi all the way when playing music. biggrin.gif
*
haha, did not feel good bothering you and your housemates, it was late. and thanks for the offer, but i am looking for a more all-rounded card, suitable for gaming, movie, and music (starcraft 2 ... ahem laugh.gif ) notworthy.gif btw, i hope my card serves you well smile.gif

It's probably one of the cheapest external SC you can find out there bro, of coz not taking into account of those cap ayam SC xD
*
yup, i know ASUS SC has good reviews and all, but i do not need an external sound chip, and i am currently eyeing on a second hand X-Fi ExtremeGamer Fatal1ty Pro nod.gif
