I bought Edifier S530d just few months back and for the past few weeks it's been working fine. Only last week, I notice that even though I tun up or down the volume using the wired controller or using the remote controller (while paying MP3, AVI, etc etc), the volume being emitted by the speaker does not change. Even though I mute it, and I play some MP3, there is still a sound being emitted in the speaker (meaning the input shown in the controller is not recognize by the speaker). I am connected to my CPU desktop computer using optical fiber audio connecting table. Below is the specs of my cpu
Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_rtm.090713-1255) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. System Model: P55A-UD3P BIOS: Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG Processor: Intel® Core™ i7 CPU 860 @ 2.80GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.2GHz DirectX Version: DirectX 11 Card name: ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series ------------- Sound Devices ------------- Description: Realtek Digital Output(Optical) (Realtek High Definition Audio) Default Sound Playback: Yes Default Voice Playback: Yes

QUOTE(power911 @ Nov 30 2009, 05:39 PM) lol you should have a back-up speaker bear with it if you want your speaker to be fine why does I.T. products always have to come in pair for back-up? Same thing happens to me when my WD 1 TB studio edition crash on me. This mishaps spoil your happiness so quickly. Added on November 30, 2009, 9:14 pmQUOTE(andrew9292 @ Nov 30 2009, 05:58 PM) I think my M3400's wired controller is gonna spoil soon, there is some cracking and hissing sound when i turn the volume knob. Does Edifier sell replacement knobs for M3400? how long have you been using your wired controller? This post has been edited by Johannbeckham: Nov 30 2009, 09:14 PM

Anyway, i already change a new unit for u, if still got problem i think u gotto send in the woofer. Hopefully, the problem got fix already . If not, i got to send in the whole unit which is very heavy to bring. But anyway, it's a cost of getting the unit repaired so i got no choice for now. So is it possible to pass by lowyat today to pick it up (preferably lunch time)?

Edifier, I called the number you gave me and they told me last Fri that they still haven't got the wired controller yet. I hope by this afternoon they have it already.
By the way, Do you have any suggestion on what's the best sound card that I can use for my Edifier S530D?

QUOTE(Edifier @ Dec 8 2009, 12:40 PM) Already pass the wired controller to Driver and they will ship it today. Sorry for the delay. Yesterday afternoon, I went to Lowyat to pick up the controller and as I test it when I get home that night, it work perfectly for 5 mins when playing mp3(i mute, increase&decrease the volume, etc). But the real test is when I try to play it using vlan with some of the HD videos that I have (.mkv videos). So when I play this .mkv files, again the same problem. Even though I increase and decrease the volume in the controller, nothing happens. Even though I mute in the controller, the sound still on going. Then I try to restart the computer and then, play mp3 again using windows media player, and there is no sound eminating from the speaker at all. I try to change connection from the optical cable to the coaxial cable (both cables came with the speaker). Still there is no sound. when I change to the RCA cable and touch the other end (the end where I plug into the computer), there is no "grounding" or buzzing sound (it should have a ground or buzzing sound when that is touch, that I know). Can edifier pick up my speaker from my place? Because its so heavy for me to bring to Lowyat.
