I am new buyer of S530D White edition. Afer unpack, i found my wireless remote control only have 4 button. Vol up, Vol down, Mute and Power on/off. I check the Manual and found the wireless remote control in the manual have full-function as the wired controller (More than 4 Button, roughly 10+ button)
Why I got the cut cost version of remote?
Is there any chance to buy or replace my cut cost lite edition wired remote controller with full-funtion ones? sad.gif

New owner of S530D here, just wondering how much performance different between S530D vs S730.
Does it worth it for RM300 bucks extra?

Added on March 10, 2010, 5:24 pmOh.. beside that I have old model R202 6 years ago... Still sound great untill now..

Added on March 10, 2010, 5:29 pmIn addition, i have another edifier 5.1 system R501 which bought 4 years ago.. Still serve me well until now... I wonder the longer the speaker used, its sound better... weird.. the price remain over time >5 years which against the rule of the Hi tech computer device pricing. Only the model obsolete..

Added on March 10, 2010, 5:29 pmI think i had been poison by Edifier...

I'm an ex-owner of S730D. IMO, yes, it does worth the Rm300 difference. You didn't try the S730 before going for the S530D?
*
I did try S730 before i bought S530D, but I cant really hear the sound signature of S730 even S530 due to the noisy environment of Lowyat.

Plus the size of S730D is incredibly huge, but i do like the woofer design of S730, with radiator beside.. And the satelite power 75W.

But i wonder it really made the different between in term of music from the satelite.. If the difference can hear easily , then i think extra RM300 is worth..

If not satisfied may try to sell the S530D and buy S730..

Anybody interest? hehe...

Does anyone try to use S530D Digital optical input?
See like it cannot support digital signal from my Philips PCS805 because the digital signal from the soundcard is AC3/DTS format..

S530D user attention..
I found the S530 lack of Hi freqency(treble) and low frequency(bass) response...
The noise level is very low and sound is clean..
I found my R202 is sound better (higher Hi-freqency-treble- ) when connect the S530D Satelite as compare to S530D.
Although S530D is definitely louder .. How can it be?
Any commend? how was the setting for S530 treble and bass you prefer?
How to boost the performance further?

for the bass, you could try using foobar2000 (with SuperEQ, 16383 taps) to adjust the optimal frequency for the subwoofer. compensate frequency

Thank for advice.

But why this speaker can get so many good commend from internet/forum. This is really misleading.

The Freq response from S520 - Hi freq is not high enough and low freq is not low enough. sound flat.

It is not the satelite speaker problem. It is the amplifier that sound 'flat'

By plug in the S530S satelite speaker into my R202 woofer/amp, it sound tremendously sweet and nice to hear.

Edifier , maybe my expectation is a little too high for S530D.

Anyway S530D is a good 2.1 speaker set, low noise, sound nice and low distortion at hi volume, it sound natural by no extra bass and treble. Fine tune.
The S530D material and build quality is top of its range. No complaint..
The satelite speaker is definitely quality for hi clarity (proven using R202 Amp and R501 Amp)..
Just that i feel there is room for improvement for frequency response (Hi & Lo)of the the S530D amplifier.

After testing with my S530D.. I feel it really different class level with my R202.. It has a lot to offer compared to the R202.

The S530D sound really clean and natural, no noise, no distortion at high volume, sound stage very wide.

The treble is lovely that wont be too 'oily' ,

the mid is very detail and real,

The bass is a bit soft but is very controlled , ready to boost by adjust and bass setting or the SW volume.

The sound blended very well.. Vocal sound is detail and so real that just like the singer is in front of you , and hear the 'live' show.

After long hour of hearing S530D, I do not have the irritating feeling as compared to my R202, because the sound is true, real and natural..

I feel Edifier is trying to tune the S530D as close to what Book shelf offered.

Really love it... thumbup.gif

Ok sorry for the misunderstanding, you guys mean that the WIRED remote ALSO acts as a WIRELESS receiver for a WIRELESS Remote Control?
*
Yes. You are right!
There is 2 control , 1 wired , 1 wireless. wire controller is act as a receiver for wireless IR controller.
