Added on November 2, 2009, 11:14 pm QUOTE(arremie @ Nov 2 2009, 09:45 PM) Yeah 730 is big but the bass is very good. I just want to know whether there is a known problem like 330. I'm gonna use the 530/730 with WDTV and DVD player using digital coax or optical. What sort of problem you're mentioning? This post has been edited by chingwooi: Nov 2 2009, 11:14 PM |

Okay, finally got the Razer Mako in the house. Playing songs now. First impression is... I feel that there's an over hyped on this speakers. Unless the sound will actually improve over time with extensive cooking, otherwise, seriously those who said this speaker can match the Edifier S730D, you might want to get ur ears checked immediately xD
Lesson learnt: You don't need THX certified to actually sound good ^^v |

If not comparing to Edifier S730D, I've to say that the Razer Mako, based on its size , the performance is pretty impressive, dunno whether I was tired this morning or what, the speakers sound bad jus now( or may be i shouldn't compare it to the Edifier S730D that has been fully burnt in after all). Just now I left the speakers to play for around 8 hours(with pink noise), now the sound is pretty ass-kicking. Anyway, I shall write a brief review on this speaker together with the comparison to the Edifier S730D when my exam is over xD Stay tuned
P/S: My Soundcard spoiled so rite now I'm connecting the Razer Mako directly to the Mac, wait until my iBasso D1 is fixed then I shall comment on the speakers again This post has been edited by chingwooi: Dec 12 2009, 06:44 PM |

QUOTE(andrekua @ Dec 12 2009, 11:35 PM) Already told you. Yup, that's what I tot initially, however I don't think so, I can assure you that the Razer Mako is way btr than the MX5021 in term of clarity, no doubt on that, the bass of the Mako altho is not as strong as MX5021, yet it's not weak either, just nice First flaw, there is no tweeter. Secondly, Im personally not against down firing sattelite if they are being done right, like in the case of ATP3. Down firing works to a certain extend but you still need forward facing backup like a tweeter in the case of ATP3. Lastly, the weird looking sub is aiming for exterior superiority or sound quality? Its not easy to design a ported sub with such design as you need to move massive amount of air to create nice sounding bass. BTW, Im surprised that you would buy something without auditioning it first. I wouldnt do that if I were you. Given the massive pricetag, I wouldnt even give it a second thought. Even though I own S2000, I wouldnt have in the first place had Edifier not having promotion for it at RM999 during the PCFAIR. Some system might be nice sounding but most important is to make sure you are paying the right price for it. I would say Mako is worth around RM500-600 at best. Even at the price, its being considered a huge premium already. Added on December 12, 2009, 11:38 pm Sometimes you do learn to appreciate the system after you acknowledge its shortcoming. I have a couple bad memories with BA7500, MX5021 and ATP3 (newer version). |

QUOTE(coffeinfreak @ Dec 29 2009, 10:25 PM) Hi, Welcome to LYN i am from germany and this is my Edifier S530 Review: http://www.tech-review.de/include.php?path...tid=8519&page=1 I know u dont understand our language but the S530 is really good for this low price. Soon i test the S550 and i think its a good 5.1 soundsystem. So, you guys got a S550 with digital a digital input? In germany we have only a S550 with normal Cinch input. |

QUOTE(coolkwc @ Jan 6 2010, 11:42 PM) Finally tested S730 on Monday...I will owning this speaker soon... Em, if you put all setting at "0", there won't be any bass from both the satellite speakers and subwoofer. Edifier S730D is indeed an impressive speaker, pair it with a decent soundcard coz this baby needs to b fed well Thought the sound will bass dominated, suprisingly not, the sound is balance in all '0' setting, especially the midrange and treble, so smooth. |

QUOTE(meowid @ Jan 28 2010, 09:25 PM) No limit I don't think bookshelf is suitable for movies, get S730D, better for movie and musics I see S530 and S730 are Edifier upper range. Is the difference in quality worth it? Or get a bookshelf? Love the E3100 vocal, but the bass quantity is not enough in proportion to the vocal. Eg. Cymbal and bass guitar too soft. Using E3100 for music ( looking for better one ) and movie ( good enough to me ). |
