QUOTE(Johannbeckham @ Dec 9 2009, 10:24 AM) Yesterday afternoon, I went to Lowyat to pick up the controller and as I test it when I get home that night, it work perfectly for 5 mins when playing mp3(i mute, increase&decrease the volume, etc). But the real test is when I try to play it using vlan with some of the HD videos that I have (.mkv videos). So when I play this .mkv files, again the same problem. Even though I increase and decrease the volume in the controller, nothing happens. Even though I mute in the controller, the sound still on going. Then I try to restart the computer and then, play mp3 again using windows media player, and there is no sound eminating from the speaker at all. I try to change connection from the optical cable to the coaxial cable (both cables came with the speaker). Still there is no sound. when I change to the RCA cable and touch the other end (the end where I plug into the computer), there is no "grounding" or buzzing sound (it should have a ground or buzzing sound when that is touch, that I know). Can edifier pick up my speaker from my place? Because its so heavy for me to bring to Lowyat. Send it to Edifier showroom, i will follow up your case for u.Sorry for the problem cause. |

Edifier Wins Prestigious 2010 Consumer Electronics Show Innovations Honor Award
Luna 5 Encore, iF500 Award means Edifier is a multi-year CES Award Winner New York, NY, November 10, 2009 — Edifier Group International, an international audio company, is pleased to announce today it has been named an International CES Innovations 2010 Design and Engineering Awards Honoree for its Luna 5 Encore, iF500 consumer speaker in the high performance audio category. Edifier is now a multi-year CES award winner, having won two of these awards at CES 2008 (for its E3350 computer speakers and its Rainbow wireless sound system). “The CES 2010 award for the Edifier Luna 5 Encore, iF500 is a tribute to the continuing ground-breaking innovation and design work performed by the Edifier R&D team,” said Wendong Zhang, founder, president and CEO of Edifier International. “It is gratifying for Edifier’s entire team when industry leaders and experts recognize their hard work. We look forward to exhibiting at CES 2010 in Las Vegas in January and showcasing the Luna 5 Encore, iF500 and Edifier’s many other outstanding consumer audio speakers.” Products entered in this prestigious CES awards program are judged by a pre-eminent panel of independent industrial designers, engineers and members of the media to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting-edge consumer electronics products across 26 product categories. Then all award winners are announced at New York Unveil on November 10. The company previously won International CES Innovations 2008 Design and Engineering Honoree Awards for its E3350 computer speaker and its Rainbow wireless speaker system. The Rainbow won in the audio components category, while the E3350 took the honor in computer peripherals. The Rainbow was also recognized by the Industrie Forum Design organization in Germany, as was Edifier’s S730 computer speaker. About the Edifier Luna 5 Encore, iF500 A statement of design excellence, the Luna 5 Encore, iF500 is an elegant all-in-one audio system offering uncompromising audio quality. As an iPod, iPhone or MP3 docking station, or when operated in FM radio mode, the simplicity of use, design and audio quality of the iF500 makes for an outstanding visual and audio experience. Technical highlights: • All-in-One audio system for iPod, iPhone and MP3 players. • 5-Driver speaker system incorporates unique vibration and resonance control technologies coupled with low-frequency porting and mid-range tuned cavities for smoother cleaner audio. • Digital FM radio. • Aux input allows MP3 players and MP3-enabled cellular phones to be connected. • Full-range universal switch-mode power supply. Specifications highlights: • Speaker driver complement: 1x5.75" woofer, 2x2.75" mid-ranges, 2x1" tweeters. • Power output: Total 50 watts RMS. Subwoofer power 30 watts, mid-range and Tweeter power 20 watts. • Full-range switch-mode power supply: 100-240V, 50/60Hz. The prestigious Innovations Design and Engineering Awards have been recognizing achievements in product design and engineering since 1976. The awards are sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® — producer of the International CES, the world’s largest consumer technology tradeshow — and endorsed by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), the voice of industrial design, committed to advancing the profession through education, information, community and advocacy. Edifier’s Luna 5 Encore, iF500 will be displayed at the 2010 International CES, which runs January 7–10, 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Innovations Design and Engineering Showcase will feature honorees by product category in the Grand Lobby of the Las Vegas Convention Center, and the Luna 5 Encore, iF500 will also be featured at CES Unveiled: The Official Press Event of the International CES on Tuesday, January 5. The Innovations entries are judged based on the following criteria: • Engineering qualities, based on technical specs and materials used. • Aesthetic and design qualities, using photos provided. • The product’s intended use/function and user value. • Unique/novel features that consumers would find attractive. • How the design and innovation of the product compares to other products in the marketplace. Products chosen as an Innovations honoree reflect innovative design and engineering of the entries. Examples may include the first time various technologies are combined into a single product, or dramatic enhancements to previous product designs. Innovations 2010 Design and Engineering honoree products are featured on www.CESweb.org/Innovations, which lists product categories, as well as each product name, manufacturer information, designer, description, photo and URL.
