This thread has finally moved to version 4. I would like to change our old format where putting the whole bunch of our collection list here as I believe most of us already started to have big SD collection (due to this thread perhaps ). We will focus more on the new updates and also our non-stop group build event.....

IMO bandai is trying to maintain the cost by not putting in the joint... for us yes we don't mind paying a little bit extra to get 'joint' version. but bear in mind sango series (or rather SD series) is popular among teenager or even kids with have limited pocket money to spend...

imagine if sango series from 500 yen -> 600 yen and then -> 800yen = RM30 (yen rate increase liao mah ) per box.....

model kits not for kids...especially SDs that need so much thing to modify and paint! hehehe

Agree with kukubeh on that......
We need to see what kind of market that Bandai target for this SD series.....

And we have to pity those kids that doesnt have a lot of pocket money (I was one of this little kids last time )

And by doing this, it can provide us a bigger space for our imagination and creativity, right?

ah this is true..just that if wanna mod, we need to buy extra parts that actualy when add up bcome more expensive than if bandai include joints in mass production..huhu

just spray finish my darth vader zaku with flat spray... it look sligtly better than last time lol !

haha... ask auntie lenny what age group people that normally buy sango series from her shop to find out then.

usually i go to auntie shop... the ppl who purchase there will be secondary school level and upward.... the oldest i saw is one uncle who i think is a regular....

i seen a lot of primary school student buy SD in auntie's shop. normally when those student visit auntie treat them like her own children. there's one time one of the boy was wet (due to the rain) and auntie even give him free gundam t-shirt to change. haha!

flat topcoat will make metalic colours duller. that's why.

Somehow when I use clear spray can as top-coat, it will make my gold paint become ugly.....
So, I dare not spray a lot of clear paint on my gold paint....

i snap fit 00 gundam yesterday.. lol very easy.. take around 1hour like that..
but i must say it's nice..
-got separate parts to differentiate the colour..
-nice articulation
-very details

the only set back again is i think is the hand ... thats all besides that everything is great

since the exia.. yes bandai do like that.. but considering the armaments is quite big.. maybe it's better no joint there..
otherwise maybe the hand fall down..

morning ... i bought wrong paint... cant pain my liu bei zz..

i don't mind the elbow joint, but at least the wrist join make it like sango ler...

that handjoint looks terrible imho... wonder if there is any way we can put a polycap in there instead without making things look odd.

I prefer this kind of SD; no polycaps at the wrist, no elbows etc.

Cause it reminds me a lot of my good ol' SDs and thats what I have been expecting SDs to be. ^^

yes the hand joint is a dissapointment... sango hand joint is better than this..

hmm... i think gundam 00 will be my first sd gundam to mod ^^" haha..

look on the waist.. normally cannot turn like that coz they are fixed
for this round it can move.. (A2 17 on the diagram)
more or less got 2 moving ball there.. lol

oic now. so basically the parts where the legs attach can twist independently of the waist and torso

@helldiver, i'm your opposite. i like SDs to have superb articulation, something of an HGUC with super big head

I like Simplicity at its best for such cute kits.

Btw, about the Gundam 00 waist joint, its something like some of the current HGs lah... left/right can turn forwards while the other turns backwards.
