actually i'm already a mod of this section. if u click the report button, i'll come and deal with the problem. but so far there's hardly anyone bothering to click the report button from this section. so please, do click the report button.

meanwhile however, i wanna disclose that mods arent chosen based on voting by the people, but by the admin and staff. so u may sorta like, nominate. but not necessarily chose. so, yea, if u want to go ahead with this, by all means do. meanwhile, i'm for u guys as a specific mod. (and mobile computing, and pda, and handphones section) please click the report button, and i'll get to work on it speedily.

we actually need a self regulating moderator to clear the mess up before it gets out of hand.

we do know that mods arent chosen on voting by the people, perhaps we can still nominate and just let you guys do the decision out of respect. If not we will still be a non-regulated bunch with all the +1 +1 shit that is going around.

and well being a mod for so much sections, are you up for the job bro? we just need a dedicated guy around in the sub-forum to control threads that are in repetition again and again and again. and so far i've not seen you doing anything in the iphone sub-forum like controlling spams, closing and merging redundant threads.

just my 2 cents worth.

we are actually looking for a well versed moderator (specifically for iphone) who can point to the newbies to a corresponding link (and yet at the same time, putting a disclaimer that he/she can seek for more guidance if the link doesn't help) and subsequently closing it before any sort of trolling or flaming can take place.


we have no intentions of clicking the report button as we all know precisely how long is the list and by the time, you can actually get to it, the damage has been done.


no offense, but i don't think that is what we have in mind to begin with.

In my defence: if u check with the mobile computing and handphone users, u'll see that i'm on almost 24 hours a day, and i'm only recently appointed mod so i dunno how slow was the report time response in your section, but i can almost basically guarantee action on my part within 24 hours when its reported.

however i DO support and believe that someone who is well versed in your section, should be a mod in your section. i for one am well versed in pda section, which was what i was promoted to mod in the first place for, and now also made mod of your section, so i know that a specific mod is not only better on the whole, but good for morale.

while i support this however, i do not have any say in the matter. up to admins and staff. which is why i moved your thread here so that admin and staff can actually look into your plight

fellow user =Hanxz=, has posted earlier than i did, but basically he shares the same opinion as well.


and seeing how recently that you have responded to the signature allegation in this very same subforum, i reckon that this will probably create more problems than help.


we are all very sick of all the unnecessary unharmonious environment in the iphone subforum and we want some sort of order imposed to it. as much as we love to share our knowledge, we don't endorse spoon feeding as well. therefore, i don't see how clicking the "report" button will bring any help in the first place. we need an all rounder moderator who is very well versed for this specialised subforum (which has prompted a lot of unnecessary repetitive questions from newbies)

rest assured that this is nothing personal or any intention to "steal your thunder" as a moderator. i have never doubted your work else where. guaranteed!


we just need someone to merge, delete and contain the threads accordingly (before the damage is being done). any matters which we deem to be more serious, we will make sure that our nominated candidate, davidgary73 will report to the higher authority for further actions/advice.

is it any ways to bump this up to staff & admin so they can look up this?

I find it ironic that a PDA moderator moderating the iPhone section. When push comes to shove, I doubt anyone who had no comprehensive knowledge on the workings of the iPhone AND how the scene is doing would be able to mediate it fairly.

It's like asking a football referee to mediate a volleyball match. He's be calling handball 24/7!

But then again, fair moderation is not a strong point I would associate with "you people" around here.

@stringfellow, well, if your chosen person becomes a mod, wouldnt he become "one of us"? while i may agree to this proposal, i do think that was uncalled for, and does nothing to help your cause.

for the others, i'm PMing davidgray to work with him regarding all matters iphone right now. possible work out something, like i do what he wants me to do for iphone and stuff, as a temporary solution to your problems

One of you, yes.....but the more reliable kind. I do not hold blanket perception that all of "you people" are bad apples, there are those who do their work and maintain partiality. But like I said, when push comes to shove, when peer pressure adds in, when it comes to standing up to things that you personally believe, rather than acting based on hivemind mentality, what would your choices be?

That said, I think it would be fair to give you the benefit of the doubt, since you sounded sincere in your intentions of putting your newfound status to good use. But I still maintain my stand that an iPhone-specific mod, with all-round knowledge on the iPhone AND the scene itself should be the best man to do it. After all, we are looking for the "best man" to do it, not the "the best man who can be pulled into to sway to certain agendas". Not that I am implying that you are, Baronic, but you'll have to understand my general wariness when it comes to "you folks" after those past incidences.

P/S: This is not a flame, this is merely an observation and a comment. I don't have a cause, other than seeing the RIGHT thing done. If you consider this simple sentences as "a flame", then I'm afraid you have more to contend with, later in your moderating life here. I'd think I've been rather civil and accomodating, with a little mirth and cynics thrown in together.
