SG not sure. US you can use online trading such as etrade.https://us.etrade.com/

or scottrade. U can see the procedure for overseas client to apply an account via thier website. No need agent. all done via online. But form need to sign and send to US. Usually 1 month can be done. Charges for online trading some goes 9.99USD per transaction. quite affordable. Money transfer you can use Mayban2u wire/TT. Remember to fill in Witholding tax form to declare you are foreigner to avoid your dividend/capital gain being withheld by US government.

What u need to do just open a share trading acc with cimb investment bank and fill up the cross border form.

I m working at retail equities department in cimb investment bank. I can help u on dis. Just PM me for further info.

Alternatively you can open a trading account in OSK for both countries.
They do have internet trading services also.

No, for normal share trading acc, it is only need 1k to start trading in klse or cross broder trading.
10k deposit is cimb clicks trader, but dis acc cannot trade cross broder, currently clicks trader promoting ZERO brokerage fee.
