[Comment From Rey ]
Will Krankcar move to tottenham? 9:02 QUOTE Tom Adams: Rey, thanks for getting involved. Kranjcar is one of the moves that should indeed happen today. You can check out the full story here. We are also expecting Richard Dunne to join Aston Villa, David Bentley to move to Manchester City and all manner of players to join Portsmouth. They have already signed Hassan Yebda from Benfica on loan while Nicky Shorey is also believed to be heading for a medical at Fratton Park. It is a very good deal. A bargain i must say.
QUOTE At the beginning of the 2008-09 season, AS Monaco had a bid of £12 million rejected for Kranjčar, The best thing is he has already experienced playing for BPL(portsmouth). |

QUOTE Tottenham are hopeful of Sebastien Bassong being fit of the BPL clash against Man United despite missing Cameroon's clash against Gabon. The 23-year-old picked up a slight knock to one of his knees against the same opponents last weekend and missed the return clash on Wednesday night, although Paul Le Guen's decision to leave him out of the squad was thought to be down to selection rather than injury. Fellow centre-back Ledley King is also confident of playing against United after recovering from a groin injury he suffered during the last-gasp win over Birmingham before the international break. Spurs boss Harry Redknapp already has Jonathan Woodgate and Michael Dawson sidelined. "We are looking to get some of our longer-term injured players back now like Michael Dawson, Gareth Bale, Jonathan Woodgate and Jermaine Jenas," Redknapp said. "They should all be coming back to fitness pretty soon and when they do return it will make the squad even stronger." Niko Kranjcar could make his Spurs debut against United after arriving from Portsmouth, with Redknapp insisting he was interested in the Croatia midfielder before Luka Modric suffered a fracture to his right leg. "We went for Niko Kranjcar in the last couple of days of the window and we got him," Redknapp said. "It was always my intention to bring Niko in, regardless of the injury to Luka Modric. "I know Niko from my time at Portsmouth. He is a great talent and a terrific lad. "He was in the last year of his contract and I know there were other Premier League clubs trying to take him but I felt he was a terrific signing for us." http://www.espnstar.com/football/premier-l...l-over-Bassong/ Modric and now bassong...hmm |

Tottenham have 4 strikers and they are playing defoe & keane most of the time. Both are doing really great especially defoe, both club level and internationally

QUOTE(richard0304 @ Oct 24 2009, 02:09 AM) feeling sorry for Pavlyuchenko and Bentley. They both surely aren't getting the chances to play a lot...I think pavly is now a forth choice since the arrival of crouch. Crouch is the one being fielded more after keane and defoe..Redknapp is wasting big talents. Might as well sell them for profit This post has been edited by nshady: Oct 24 2009, 01:11 PM |

Assou-Ekotto should have done better handling Robert Fuller..but i think Sebastion bassong could have done something instead of standing and watch the ball being passed to whelan..

Modric is doing very well on the left-flank. Since spurs have a lot of centre midfielders like jenas, palacios and huddlestone.

QUOTE(spursfan @ Oct 28 2009, 07:33 AM) yeah ... modric is doing very well at the flank ... him drifting towards the middle is a very strong threat ... and bentley is a 15m mistake Bentley spends most of the time on the bench. so 15m is too much for him...I think he'll be leaving soon. Lennon's still the best on right...Don't think anymore signings are needed since we have Kranjcar..if we can get a class middy like gerrard or a dm playmaker like carrick, we'd own like mad |

QUOTE(boxsystem @ Oct 29 2009, 08:57 AM) One minute you used that 'we' word in Chelsea's thread. And City's thread. Plus, United's thread. Now, Spurs' thread. Glory hunting isn't it? I use "we" to talk about the team of the thread. Guess I'll not do that anymore Btw, if im a glory hunter i wouldnt support spurs...RM looks better Sorry for the confusion tho.. I think tottenham dominated the 2nd half against villa. Why is keane on the bench these days?
Pavlyuchenko's agent awaits Roma talks QUOTE Roman Pavlyuchenko's agent expects the Tottenham striker's future to become clearer by tomorrow after he revealed he is set for talks with Serie A giants Roma. Pavlyuchenko, out of favour with manager Harry Redknapp, has made no secret of his unhappiness with life at White Hart Lane in recent weeks. Roma are in pole position to sign the Russian, and hope to sign him when the January transfer window opens. "We're meeting Roma today or tomorrow for Roman,'' Oliver Wendt said. "Roman wants to leave London and he wants to go to Roma. If Tottenham allow him to go, Roman could be a Roma player. "Everything depends on the meeting we will have today or tomorrow with Roma. "I had contact with the Roma directors last week too and they showed they were interested.'' Liverpool and Spartak Moscow are also reported to be interested in the player, who has Robbie Keane, Peter Crouch and Jermain Defoe in front of him in the pecking order at White Hart Lane. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id...england&cc=4716 Modric on the way back QUOTE Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric is making good progress in his comeback from a fractured fibula. Manager Harry Redknapp revealed that the player - out since August after suffering the injury in the Premier League win over Birmingham - has been training with the youth team. "Luka trained with the kids and he was moving a lot better,'' said Redknapp. "So he's on his way back and hopefully it shouldn't take too long. We don't want to break him down and we want to make sure he's ready.'' Schemer Modric has been badly missed both at club and international level. Tottenham have struggled to sustain their excellent start to the season, and Croatia failed to qualify for the World Cup. Redknapp is expected to underline his team's credentials to qualify for the Champions League by rotating his squad for the Carling Cup quarter-final against Manchester United. United boss Sir Alex Ferguson often uses the competition to field fringe players and, while that may offer Spurs a glimmer of hope of their first win at Old Trafford since 1989, Redknapp will also make changes. "I can change a few players around, players who have trained hard and showed a good attitude around the club,'' Redknapp said, with Robbie Keane and Jermaine Jenas falling into that bracket after being substitutes for the last two games. Alan Hutton and Gareth Bale could also be used. Spurs have been finalists for the last two years in the third biggest prize in domestic football - winning it under Juande Ramos in 2008 - but this season they have mounted a serious campaign to finish in the top four of the Barclays Premier League. With a third of the season gone, Spurs are only behind Chelsea and United, with Redknapp viewing the title as being a two-horse race. Arsenal's challenge faltered against Chelsea, and Redknapp insisted: "I don't think we learned anything from the weekend. I said weeks ago I could see Chelsea and Man United fighting for the championship. "I can't see Arsenal winning the championship, you saw just how strong Chelsea are, they've got everything, and you can never write United off. I spoke to Alex two weeks ago and he said he felt the same way. "For us to get into the Champions League would be a real big achievement. Everton did it the other year. Why not? Of course it could happen, Villa and Man City could (also) get in there this year. "There's an opportunity but it will be very hard. We have a good a chance as anybody.'' It marks a change in mentality at Spurs, who have used cup competitions to salvage their last two seasons. After winning it they went into freefall under Ramos, then Redknapp was appointed to get the club out of a relegation battle last season. "We want to get to Wembley if we can, it's a great day out,'' Redknapp said. "But it's a tough week and gives me the chance to look at one or two players. We made plenty of changes at Preston and Doncaster.'' Centre-back Sebastien Bassong admits he would rather finish in the top four than win a trophy. "Both cup competitions are very important but the main thing for us is the Premier League,'' said Bassong in the London Evening Standard. "The top four is our goal, so if we can get into the Champions League we will all be very happy.'' United boss Ferguson will be serving the final half of his two-match touchline ban for criticising referee Alan Wiley - but Redknapp feels it will have no bearing on the result. "All the shouting and the screaming in the world makes no difference,'' he said. "It didn't make a difference at Portsmouth, and at Old Trafford you're probably better off sitting up there. Alex's teams know what they are doing. "If you make these remarks you expect it, you will get a ban if you say anything out of order, but it's not my business. "We've all been up before the FA for making remarks. I've got seven grandchildren, Christmas is coming - I can't afford a fine.'' http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id...england&cc=4716 Kranjcar is in a very good form now tho So many players are back, jenas, dawson and woodgate too eh? |

They didn't actually field the whole first team. They rotated their defenders and some midfield.
