when we are down with 2 points from 8 game, bale,modric and gomes was still unproven talent. dawson is unconsistent, more like 2nd feeder to king and woodgate.defoe and kaboul still play with pompey.

its hard to maintain talent like what juve did while they were relegated few seasons ago.

rather than buying i would rather try current young player. we already lost kevin prince boateng(now with milan :|) and adel taarbart (who have a flying season with QPR). we have o'hara (i think he is as good as charlie adam), alnwich, walker (what a milestone he achieve with villa!), khumalo (common he score a goal against france in the world cup), dos santos (who are ahead of carlos vela in mexico line up), and rose (remember that stunning goal against arsenal)

i would rather spend money on good quality striker. we should do it ala liverpool who splash on suarez and carroll. worst come to worst, get drogba for a bargain and hunt for a world class striker, regardless champions league football or not. one way or another, we are building a good team with depth.

its also important to off-load some player such as keane, palacios, jenas (we already have sandro and o'hara), bentley (vdv, pienaar and rose can play at the same pose) and woodgate (hence reduce the wage bill)

sandro is actually a player with our affiliated club, i.e. SC internacional in brazil. plus he has helped internacional to win copa libetadores before moving to spurs.
