The final match will be two-legged or just played in a single game?
"The qualifying round will see five teams, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, the Philippines and East Timor competing in a round robin in Cambodia on October 17-25."
Where will these teams be placed eh? Will there be a Group C or will they be added in the drawn up Group A & B? Confusing article >,<

QUOTE(sportsmalaysia @ Nov 4 2008, 04:27 PM) pihak kami masih menanti jawapan dari AFF, sabar Added on November 4, 2008, 4:41 pmyup, final is two-legged game, one home one away, so are the semi-finals. only two teams from those in qualifying round will qualify to the finals in bangkok/jakarta. they will be added to group a and b. laos and cambodia have qualified and will be put in group b and a respectively Oh thanks. 4 teams per group eh. Weird all eleven aren't competing in the tournament. Maybe next time the format will be changed to 5 per group and the winner of the previous edition advances to the semis automatically. 3 from each group advances to quarters. Although the previous winner will be playing only semis and finals if they make it lol. Oh well, just my 2cents worth. This post has been edited by Rhadykall: Nov 4 2008, 06:20 PM

Watched news just now. They mentioned something about Malaysia probably chosen to replace Thailand as the co-host for Suzuki Cup. Unrest in Thailand as the main reason.

QUOTE(Rocko @ Dec 2 2008, 05:36 AM) Skuad negara guna Charlie untuk ke Phuket
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « KUALA LUMPUR - Kesan pertukaran saat akhir venue Kejohanan Bola Sepak Piala Suzuki AFF mula dirasai apabila skuad bola sepak negara terpaksa menggunakan pesawat Tentera Udara Diraja Malaysia (TUDM) untuk ke Phuket, Thailand, lapor SAYED HESHAM IDRIS.
Keputusan menggunakan pesawat TUDM itu dibuat apabila sehingga semalam Persatuan Bola Sepak Malaysia (FAM) masih gagal mendapat pengesahan mengenai tempahan tiket daripada syarikat penerbangan komersial akibat perubahan kejohanan dari Bangkok ke Phuket dua hari lalu.
Menjelaskan lebih lanjut perkara tersebut, Setiausaha Agung FAM, Lt. Jen.
Skuad negara akan memulakan saingan di kejohanan Piala Suzuki AFF pada Sabtu ini menentang Laos, diikuti Vietnam pada 8 Disember dan tuan rumah Thailand dua hari kemudian they are really really gonna be in trouble if they couldnt qualify for semis after getting this exclusive trip. n y is thailand still wanna host. i see a lot of problem (even to the other teams as well) with regards to having the match there. this shud warrant a change of venue Why? Sebab Thailand mengada.

Very fiesty affair if both of them get to play each other xD Wall couldn't be bothered to jump even an inch. The Laotian coach should spank 'em lol. Anyway, congrats to Malaysia

We can only get past the group stages if Thailand decide to let us win. Haih, that's the reality of it.

QUOTE(darythlee @ Dec 9 2008, 08:49 PM) From the video, the boys sure looked to play a much better game. Sadly the 3rd goal by the Viets was indeed a bad blunder on the keeper side. But overall our boys did a good job. Just the finishing All three bro. First one obvious. Second one not so, but if you think carefully, he shouldn't have conceded a goal from the near post. Third, no need to ask whether or not it's his fault. Haihz.

QUOTE(johnjenin @ Dec 10 2008, 12:29 PM) agree with u toshio14. people never understand and remember how good is helmi in the first game against Laos. he is the one who save the superb free kick from Laos. And two one on one save, saving Malaysian from humiliated from minnow, Laos. Helmi deserve to play tonight. He is the best. Much much better than Syed Adney. Full stop! Tournaments require different level of mentality and performance la bro. Remember also that the group stage only has three matches, not six. If six lain cerita lah, because then we will still have a chance to make up for the ridiculous result against Vietnam. Also, all THREE goals he conceded are because of HIS below-par performance. One out of three we can tolerate, BUT we're talking three out of three here. Lastly, and I've mentioned this somewhere before, who the hell lets the opponent score a stupid goal like that just ONE MINUTE after getting a HARD EARNED equalizer??? This evening, 6 o'clock. They decided to not move the venue to Bangkok so the match will be played in Phuket. Added on December 10, 2008, 5:18 pmQUOTE(johnjenin @ Dec 10 2008, 03:22 PM) define consistency. Helmi only play below par against Vietnam. please name the last match he play below par, please.... he kept clean sheet for 90 minutes in the Merdeka Tournament. its not consistent? Wanna come up with excuse we play again 'not so strong' team? Added on December 10, 2008, 3:27 pmwhy only blame Helmi? it was Juzaili Sameon mistake on the second goal. failed to stop the ball. failed to close down opponent and let them shoot. why didnt blame Safee Saali for hitting the post on one on one situation? why didnt blame Zaquan Adha for not having shoot on target? Everyone say that football is all about teamwork. but why only blame Helmi? Why anyone didnt point why Sathia take out Daudsu to replace with Juzaili Sameon? Why Hairuddin as a striker playing on midfield position? Why Why Why? Coz we're talking about the keeper? Just because we don't talk about the others that doesn't mean we feel that they played very good. Nobody said that you know. The topic is about the goalkeeper so the goalkeeper it is then. What la. p/s: how are you a good goalkeeper if you let in a goal from the near post? he was covering the near post darn it. as a goalkeeper, do you expect the defender to 100% block any shots all the time? no you don't. he knew that coz if he did not, he wouldn't be covering the near post. if defenders can 100% block all incoming shots for the goalkeeper, then why do we have GKs? And 1-2 players wearing the current new home kit.. What happened? Kitman team Malaysia also cannot pakai.. And just saw the news at TV3.. It seems that Perak's FA (PAFA) owes Steve Darby RM150k of his unpaid salary.. What is happening to Malaysian football.. going down the drain.... Omg you really are our Jersey Man
