I think use the 10k to buy a desktop is better than gaming laptop.Maybe use 1k for a small netbook for mobility. You can get very very good specs desktop with even 9k.
I really dont recommend you to get a 10k gaming laptop unless you travel frequently and you need a gaming rig with you. |

I wonder how long can the gaming laptop battery last, since so high spec, high processor speed, SLI gc, should consume power much faster.

Dell is upgrading XPS to Centrino 2 later in the year...
i really dun see the pt in gaming laptops... it's more expensive than a desktop with same spec, and yet is virtually immobile... if u get 15", still not so bad... but 17" 19", i think it's really overkill... that's juz my pov... |

QUOTE(heroiuu @ Oct 26 2008, 04:56 AM) it all about coolnest and macho ....... Honestly,if you are getting this for bragging rights,i dont think it is a good idea to spend that much money for a gaming laptop.A desktop would be much much better for you.i mean ..i dont wanna be and old nerd just sitting around in his room...im still young and i need hangout wit frend..adn meanwhile i do that i cant suft the internet at mamak shop wit my frend and thatr y potable is more cooler than a desktop... For me,i would get one gaming laptop,if i have that amount of money because i travel around and i need something powerful to run all the demanding games for me.I travel to and back from Malaysia and Aus which means a high end gaming laptop will benefit me more than a desktop as it's easier to carry a gaming laptop home.Besides, with my current M1530,i treat it more like a desktop as i always leave it at home.I only pack the laptop when im going back to Malaysia or aus. If you want to surf net at mamak,it's better to buy a netbook to surf net and a desktop to play at home. There is nothing wrong to play games with a desktop at home.Everyone here does it and playing games in Mamak aint gonna make you cooler than anyone else. Besides,a gaming laptop would have short battery life.I dont think you can surf net for more than 2 hours. Those hardware drains your battery like drinking water. The laptop will be heavy and bulky.Have fun carrying it around.I say it will take up about half of the table, your friends will hate you more than thinking you are cool.A spill on your laptop will make your 10k poff in thin air. Spend your money wisely, even though it's your dad's money. This amount of money dont come easy. Lastly, what games are you planning to play on it? If it's games like DotA or any Korean online games, you dont even need anything this powerful to run those games. This post has been edited by Cheesenium: Oct 26 2008, 10:50 AM |

No,coolness is not everything.Besides, bring a giant laptop to mamak is not cool at all.Functionality matters more. If you want utter coolness, get a Macbook instead.Makes any laptop in the market looks like a some 5 year old laptop. This post has been edited by Cheesenium: Oct 28 2008, 05:46 PM |

Considering how this guy is posting in the Sager thread, I think we should just ignore him as he is a rich spoilt brat who knows shit and doesn't seem to understand what most people is telling him to buy.
You want to brag dude? Go change your cellphone each time a new one comes out, yeah, I'm serious, that way, you can showoff frequently, how-lian everywhere, flash it around. Because if you do buy an expensive laptop, you can how-lian once, and then all your friends will get bored of your flashy expensive laptop which you bought to surf net at the Mamak store. You want practicality, get a netbook, get a decent desktop, and save your dad's misery. You want mobility + power - M1730 is a good choice with rm10k. But you'll get tired of moving it around everyday to show off in class anyways, so the mobility factor diminishes pretty soon. At that point, you'll realize changing cellphones every other week to show off isn't that bad at all. This post has been edited by kaiserreich: Oct 28 2008, 10:57 PM |
