question ...

if i ask my cousin to get me a PSP in japan . would i able to change the system to english when he bring it back to malaysia to me ?
*
You can actually get japanese PSP units here already. Why go through all the trouble to get in Japan? You can select the PSP system language.

You can order from playasia and get it send to Malaysia
http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-9e-49-en-70-315n.html

Cheaper than yesasia US$379.99 [~MYR1,378.41] vs Playasia US$ 349.90 (~1,275 MYR)

I think got members order things from playasia before. Can ask them and see about ordering from there.

I want to get this more:
Dissidia: Final Fantasy (20th Anniversary Limited Pack)

im currently at 3.71 m33-2. do i need to upgrade firmware in order to run 8GB or 16GB memory stick?
i dont run any homebrews so any thaughts that i shuould upgrade to firmware 5.01?

-cheers-

*
I've read somewhere that with 3.71 some PSP can use 16GB and some can't. But that depends I think.

I'm currently using 5.00m33-3 with 16GB (8GB x2 MicroSDHC) with no problems.

Please don't upgrade to 5.01 firmware as you can't play homebrews and ISO/CSO with it.

I already check their thread but I think I prefer buy at Sony Centre becuz I think the price is only expensive a bit.

Here is my estimate cost (according to price at Garage Sales):

PSP (Sony Centre) - RM799
Ori SanDisk 4GB Memory Card - RM100
Accessories - Around RM60

Total = Around RM 960++

And yeah, I need to pay to modify for custom firmware

So, the REAL TOTAL = around RM 990

Plus, I went to Best Denki, they offer 1 free game + Sony T-shirt, don't know if Sony Centre still offer this becuz I went to Mid Valley Sony Centre long time ago, they offer the same.
*
To tell you the truth, 4GB is not enough if you want put alot of ISOs in it.

PC Fair coming on the 12-14 December.

You can go and get a Sandisk 8GB M2 with MSPD adapter for about RM150-170. It's cheaper than getting a Sandisk 8GB MSPD which cost about RM200+.

thanx for ur info. Is it better to use MSPD or M2 with MSPD adapter for ur PSP? Does the speed rate same?
*
I think there is a tiny bit of lag when using 8GB M2 because of the adapter. I don't have an original 8GB MSPD to test to compare. Only have imitation 4GB that came with the PSP package I bought.

Anyway now using CR-5400 adapter with 2x Sandisk 8GB MicroSDHC class 6. Don't feel any lag if comparing with the 8GB M2.

Cheaper than buying the 16GB MSPD by 50%.

*
It won't brick but you will have the latest OFW 5.01 and won't be able to run homebrew and ISOs.

Search for playboy's update steps to CFW 5.00m33-4 in the last few pages of this thread.

If didnt read den just hamtam copy folder liao...

Copy the eboot.pbp and 500.pbp that you downloaded into a folder called "UPDATE" and copy that UPDATE folder into the MSPD's \PSP\GAME folder.

So it should look like \PSP\GAME\UPDATE folder with the 2 files mentioned above.

Then on your PSP and go into the Game > Memory Stick and run "PSP Update Verion 5.00". Just follow playboy's guide and you'll be fine.

Very easy to update laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

5. Damansara.. laugh.gif They sell everything at premium price. Buy from LYN seller like bernardmoh, sce, nelsonkoay... around rm9xx only [fully modded]

6. Nowadays mspd price drop like hell, grab the DNA brand 8 GB mspd, for just RM90 in PC fair.
8. It is the best if and only if it can play ahem games.
*
Saw a thread about the DNA memory here:
http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/763592

Some guy (the guy selling imitation MSPD! laugh.gif) say that DNA is selling rebranded Sandisk memory. I think I would rather buy Sandisk or Sony MSPD instead to risk my $ to buy this DNA. That's my 2sen.

Wah Chai: Get at least 8GB for ISO, movies, music and pictures. 4GB is too little. You can get the sandisk 8GB M2 with MSPD adapter which is cheaper than buying the sandisk 8GB MSPD. Or you can go extreme like some members here, get PhotoFast CR-5400 adapter (RM85) and buy 2 sandisk 8GB MicroSDHC class 6 (RM90 each). You will have 16GB memory to use.

You're a pro at swapping memory cards laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif I'm too lazy to swap MSPD, so I got the 8GB M2 and the CR-5400 with 16GB.

It's PhotoFast not PhotoShop!

Try searching in Garage Sales and Bulk Order for the PhotoFast CR-5400. There are a few people selling it.
