Well, i'm unsure if there are shops over there in the UK similar to Lowyat and all, but i am pretty sure there are people over there who provide Pandora service (Hacking service) for a small fee. He can always get a unit, (Which is hackable a.k.a doesn't possess a Pandora proof motherboard), send it to a 'guy' and allow him to hack it.

You might also want to consider purchasing it for him here, and then sending it to him via 'whatever' lol. I don't know about sending stuff overseas.

Make sure he doesn't buy a unit which has a Pandora proof motherboard. Custom firmware cannot be installed on it yet. There is a hack for it known as the GripShift exploit by MaTiAz and Freeplay, but he would need an original version of GripShift to allow the hack to run (That is if his firmware is < 5.03). But this hack allows users to run very little homebrew only.

Purchasing it here is an option, but it is only a last resort as it is quite expensive over here as he is only studying and every bit saved will help. There he can get it as cheap as £100 which is a really good deal. I think the best bet for him is to look for a PSP with firmware 3.81 and below to be sure of being able to put in CFW.

That is a good idea, but mind, finding for a psp with an old firmware wouldn't be an easy task, unless you get lucky lol tongue.gif

look, in uk a umd costs about £10-30 depending on games.
even from £ to RM conversion it's still cheap. to me anyway.
finding pandora service over there is not easy.
and a psp over there cheap for sure, but if he wants a pandora-able psp, just buy a second hand here & courier over?

note : i got my psp phat secondhand in pristine condition with a free umd + 2x 2gb + original headphone set + the rest of the crap. for MYR500, which is GBP(£)95.0407 GBP.

check out ebay uk. it's a good place to start

if 30pound still quite expensive. times 5.8. back then when their economy was strong it was like times 6.8
SONY malaysia is stupid. they should sell UMD here around rm30 also, appropriate with our capital earnings.
coz i ask my friend who lives in england
RM here = GBP there

study economics..

Well, some psp2000's can be hacked, wherelse psp3000 units can't be hacked at all. That, if you ask me, is the best difference between those two. Others are nonsense..

No, you can't install custom firmware on PSP3000's.

Haha, another reminder, thats what everyone thought when the TA088v3 motherboard was not hackable. Until today, the status is still the same. Therefore, there might be a chance that the PSP3000 will not see the light of the day for CFW just like TA088v3 motherboards.

proz4ever? You're talking about the Windows application? Never used it, but i'd say, use homebrews to manage your files on the go smile.gif
