some questions here. Got to admit the CE looks kinda cool & refreshing with some little mod.

- the 3rd row seats, can an adult sit comfortably?
- anyone tried driving with 7 adults in it? wondering hows the performance

definitely thinking of dropping by to have a test drive
*

Yes. The space at the 3rd row is good and comfortable for two normal size adults. Of course not for over size/weight individual. The torque and power is very good, not much different even full loaded 7 seaters. I tried this during CNY and I am very please driving it and passengers praise my Eastar.
Try it your own and have see, feel and drive experience!

hai guys,i just did my 5k svc at puchong last week, after the svc i feel that my car is a little bit heavy and under power even my wife who seldom drive the car also complaining.it feels like the car hv not been svc for a long tym, anybody experienced that???pls help.a bit upset about the power.
*

This is just my personal opinion. There is one possibility; the foreman has open up the battery terminal to refill the battery water. Hence, ECU is out of original setting. I suggest that you take it back to the service center to reset the ECU. Or you leave it like that and let the ECU to learn up your driving habbit and customise it to your form. The ECU is designed to be very intelligent as to pick up the driving habiit of the driver and it will adjust accordingly. Of course, reset is prefferred.
Generally, resetting the ECU is very expansive; range from RM40~200 depends on the type of car. I am not sure abt Eastar or will it be under warranty(dun know).
Just keep us update, are you still having this feeling of under power? Reset done?

Added on July 24, 2009, 8:00 pmCherry Service Centre Puchong, maybe you can help us to answer these questions. When the battery terminals are disconnected for refill battery water or changing battery or battery dead, does it need to reset the ECU? How much is to reset ECU? Doesn it under warrenty? Please advice.
Appreciate if you can advice us. Thank you.

Zeromania, good t hear tat u got your car. Welcome aboard! rclxms.gif
When the engine check icon turn on means there is one or more problem associate with the engine. Example: if aircon compressor has problem, it will light up. For such case, the car need to trouble shoot with its ECU test equipment at the SC. nod.gif
When I got my white Eastar, there is a layer of greese or wax on the paint and it easily attrack dust. I sent for polish and it fine now. Anyway, I have signed up CARS for 3 yrs, I will polish it every 6 months at least. But looks like I am doing it just 3 month bcos....I love my Eastar! rclxm9.gif

my CE FC is rm120 for only 430km. is that normal?
*

It is abt 28cents/km, a bit on the high side. Town driving is abt 25~26cents and long distance driving is abt 18~20cents. Not much variation, mabybe bcos of driving habbit. Refer to owner manual for fuel saving driving method.

oh thanks. i am juz wonder , for the 1st bar i manage to last for 200km, 2nd to 4th only 230km.. i am juz so confused.
*

No need to confuse yourself. The fuel meter indicator is not linear, so you cannot measure this way. The best way to check fc is fill up full tank, run until empty. Take the milage and refill amount. If possible, take the milage for 2 tanks of petrol amount recorded. The more the milage covered, the average will be more accurate.

Eastar doors clips is using heavy duty clips which is white and very strong. Once open, it probably torn or damage. You need to replace the same type/spec of clips in order to close the panel firmly. This white, heavy duty clips is available at 99 accessary shop @ RM5 each.
From the photos, the white clip(with screw driver) is the Eastar original clip. If they did not replaced you the original type, the panel will not fix firmly.

Does the light indicators (pointer with yellow arrows) will turn on when all the car lamps turn on?
[attachmentid=1108669]
*

You are right, these indicators are for lamps. The center one is for general lamp(normal small, low, high beam) when switch on. The right side is for fog lamp and the left side is for rear fog lamp. Front fog lamp only be switched on with general lamp is switch on. Whereas rear fog lamp can only be switched on with front fog lamp switch on. You cannot switch on the rear fog lamp without switching on the front fog lamp. Note: this car only have one reverse light; the left side only. The right side is rear fog lamp for heavy rain used. cool2.gif
If the indicator do not light up at all, refer to SC. nod.gif

I think my CE rear fog light indicator cannot turn on even i switch on the rear fog light.
*

Check it out! B4 you turn on the rear fog light, you hv to turn on the front light and the front fog light together ya! If it fails this way, need to inform SC about this. Check also the rear fog light is working or not; not just the indicator. Sometimes the rear fog light "fuse", so as the indicator won't light up.

No, not normal. All indicators have to light up accordingly. Check with SC for details.

Hi Top Gun, glad to hear tat you enjoy yr trip. This is a very good MPV. After solving those noises, the car is excellent. Few owners have done intensive DIY on insulation and the car become very quiet. You can refer to CCC DIY or my facebook(Liu Shiou Ming) DIY for further DIY info. We enjoy DIY and improve our Eastar.

how abt the car's oil consumption a?? one f my fren said.. this car "minum minyak" is tat true??
*

I personally tested the FC many times. Here it goes: for long distance driving maintain at 110~120Km/h, the FC is below 19cents/km and town driving is ~25cents/km. I consider the FC is good.
Pls also consider the comfort, driving pleasure and safety Eastar provides you. For center region, call Superhub.
Note: petrol price @ 1.8/l.

RON95 FOR CHERY EASTAR

Guys, I would like to know whether there is a need for us to tune our engine if using RON95.

If so, where can I have it tuned.

Thanks

Cyberranger.
*

Eastar engine is designed to use at least RON93 or higher. That means you dun need to tune the engine when u use RON97 or RON95. The ECU manage all the combustion ratio for RON93 and above.

Tested RON95. Excellent power and smooth engine. Save lots of money too when compared to new price for RN97@RM2.00. Time to shift to RON95 now. If possible, reset ECU so that the engine can adapt to the new petrol grade immediately. Without reset ECU, the engine management also can reprogram to adapt the new petrol grade, no worry. Reset ECU, refer to CCC forum:
