To be fair, comparisons aren't meaningful at all if one exclude shipping and taxation and if I were to take ckyong's comparison and assume that a rm600 shipping cost for MBS-01, the price difference is 18.7%. Is 18.7% excessive? IMHO no. If I were to put myself in the dealer's POV, doing business with a 18.7% is not excessive (I personaly think it's hard to survive with such a margin!) because I have to put many factors into consideration. Speakers like these are not everyday fast moving items and they are bulky. Stocking costs should not be discounted and then needless to say there is the cost of doing business also.

Certain brands have certain pricing in certain countries. Since we are talking about home entertainment, I shall restrict an example based on it.

Take Denon 2310 receiver. There exists an incredible pricing gap between UK and US.

I would imagine that these brief prices are not the absolute best prices but the pricing difference is there.

Back to SVS subs. If I like it and if I believe the pricing is justifiable, I would buy and I certainly would not to count all the 'dead straws'.
