You miss my point. I'm not asking them to educate customers. If you're into HT you will know stuffs, not only what you're selling, and make efforts to cater customer's demands. Knowing more can expand yur business. My point here, they're not really interested into HT themselves, they're strictly doing business. If their answer was "That subwoofer really keng, but sorry, we don't sell that" then I'm OK, at least they know what I'm talking about. But their answer was "SBS? Apa tu?", would that give you confidence as a customer? If you guys fine doing business like that, I don't have any objections. Just stating my experience and opinions.

curiously, i met my previous car wash fella selling hifi at the Av show in Perfect Hifi room!! Isn't that just Perfect! biggrin.gif
btw, didn't someone complained about Perfect hifi?

I imagine if you ask him got svs or not, he'll say,"boss, i no more wash car but svs is a perfect car wax, so if you buy Grand Piano Domus from me, then i give free car wash and free svs wax". laugh.gif

You all forgot that htkaki is getting the stocks from KEC...he is a dealer, not distributor....KEC already got a cut in the profit.....

Everyone wants things to be cheap, including me, but the reality is that, apart from the cost of the goods, there are many other things involved, think of shipping, warehouse, rental, salary, insurance, medical etc.....

If you are running a business, you would know, but if you are an engineer...good luck tongue.gif
*
I think that is the key point: KEC is the distributor not htkaki, so pricing is really out of his hands and there is only so much he can reduce without losing money.

Also, some had too high expectations that a local dealer will result in lower retail prices which might have happened if the distributor was also local. So, as pierreye pointed out, "if you don't like the price, you can pick other brand".

after fine tune the PC12+
now I can feel the power...
tested the Wolvarin Trailer....only on DD, WOOOOOW....my whole room are pressurized with all LFE.....the explosion are powerful
and my favorite test BD...House of the Flying Daggers...
Scene 3 where Zhang Zhiyi doing the drum dance...the sound of the drums are so real and I can hear the lowest vibration ever from the big drums...
also, the fight scene in the bamboo forest...when she wave the bamboo....I can feel the air brushing over my face....wonderful....

So funny that I get all this after I connect the Y spliter to the sub, raise the x-over to 100Hz, reduce the Gain to 10 o'clock and sub level to -6.5db

They said the Y spliter is only waste of money but I feel the diff without have to turning up the gain and level of the sub & AVR....

Like this, me no need PC13Ultra liao....the 12+ really really loud enough for me already....tongue.gif

btw, how big is your room?

Yep, fully agree.  Actually I don't quite understand how the SVS could cost so much more in malaysia.  The tax is only 25% but SVS product cost almost 65% more in Malaysia as compare to US.  Where is the other 40% hike comes from?  By mentioning this will make me very unpopular in here.  Just too bad.

Added on October 13, 2009, 4:03 am

I remember i read in another forum where someone ask the question "Is SVS sun really that good?"  All i can say is "yes". I just hope this thing can be price closer to the US so more people can enjoy it.

bro, you left out shipping and local transport costs, local dealer costs, ... don't forget we are not buying direct from factory.

haha.. thanks. your words really shows your sexpertise.

the pc-ultra is really beefy in terms of power. like the craigsub's list, it really can punch out those numbers. initial "accidental" sweep.
wheres da eq1? gain at 10oclock. Need expert to help me in this. (result should be clipped also as the spl meter range was set to 100db)

errr..the taiwanese spl meter? proskit
*
the rs meter cal values cannot be used for your taiwanese spl meter coz they're totally different and that's why your chart looks unusual i.e inaccurate smile.gif

anyway, the soundcard output shd go into your avr input so that crossover and audyssey settings can be applied.

in any case, you can use your spl meter to do manual measurements using test tones.

Played with the EQ1 over the weekend and it's an impressive bass correction device. It's able to do some serious work in order to give you a flat frequency response (within limits). Here's my before and after graphs:

user posted image

Note: I believe the EQ1 graphs are smoothed. In future I hope they give option for unsmoothed graph since that gives a more detailed view.

As you can see it works and yes it does provide marginally better result than MultEQ XT in the AVR. In my case I notice a slight improvement in the mid-bass.

Now the real question is: how does a flat frequency response sound like and do you like it? This is very much a personal preference but for me I've always been running a flat-ish graph due to MultEQ XT and I prefer the sound.
*
it would be more interesting to see the results before/after using REW to measure FR without smoothing since EQ1 charts is smoothed 1/3 octave, supposedly.
