hi, i'm a new ATOM Exec owner. Just bought em 2 weeks ago and finally had the sack to try and flash it myself. I'd just finished 2nd flash because i went on using PDA Viet's OLD ATOM rom on my EXEC. Never realized the mistake until to the point I bought a cap-ayam Bluetooth headset, checked its stated 400MHZ and System Info labeled my Exec as OLD ATOM.

Checked the system info and it told me I am using Atom so I checked all the ROMS and found out I installed the wrong one. I've downloaded 2 versions, first, the PDA VIET most current EXEC's installation and the other Jaime's; suggested in the first page.

During the first one - ATOM EXEC WM6.1 WITH HTC MANILA "TouchFLO 2D" BUILT-IN - By Jaime Méndez, my Exec stoned up on 6% mark while installing the Extended Rom. Scared the bejeebies outta me thinking that I successfully bricked my new phone.

Then I unplugged the whole thing, restarted it and it still goes into DOS mode or whatever it is, so I sticked the USB up its rear and flashed the PDA Viet's most recent release while at the same time; non-stop praying.

Question - Does anybody has the same issue with Jaime's release? Did I do s'thing wrong? Should I risk try again flashing it into my PDA? Thanks in advance, sifus.

Question, again - Even with PDAVIET's recent release, I can't seemed to get my cap-ayam Bluetooth Headset to work. Worked on my previous Ngage phone (god rests its soul). It paired up, asked for the 0000 passcode, but then nada. No reaction whatsoever. I even right-clicked (or hold-clicked) and selected Set as Headset. Anybody has the same experience? Did HTC's apps or whatever screwed it up or I just need to set more settings into the phone?

In my Advanced Control Panel, there is a setting Disabled for Bluetooth > Audio Gateway Service - is this the cause?

I don't get one thing. Are u using atom exec or atom now? If 400Mhz should be atom.

Btw, i used Jaime's rom before changing to PDAViet. Both worked out well. Bluetooth is working too.
*
Actually mine's Atom Exec. But I installed PDAVIET's non-exec ATOM ROM so it states that mine's 400Mhz. I successfully reinstalled the Atom Exec now. New update: I managed to flash for the 4th time.

Here's the timeline

(1) PDAVIET non-exec -> (2) JAIME's (failed while Extended ROM) -> (3) PDAVIET recent Exec ROM -> (4) Jaime again (becoze PDA Viet's Exec (3) = bluetooth still didnt work)

So I guess you go from (4) -> (3)

Though after finished installing Jaime's for the 2nd time, my bluetooth still doesnt work even after it says connected with Pocket PC. When I'm using (3) it asks for the 0000 passcode, but after (4), it doesnt. And the interface theme change doesnt work, Sys Info still shows i'm using (3).

Is PDAVIET > Jaime version-wise? Does that mean downgrading didn't apply; since my PDA still states its under (3)? I checked thoroughly and pretty sure I flashed Jaime's. I checked the site, the interface for Jaime is different. I'm still using PDA Viet's bluish theme, means Jaime's didnt apply.

Also, now I'm having the soft-reset hangups occasionally.. horrified. Did I screwed a bad sector in the ROM or s'thing? Help! Huhu...

Ok my bad. I didn't extract to c:\windows\temp with Jamie, causing the installer to take PDAVIET's files instead of Jamies. That was why it was still the same.

Still no update with the Bluetooth headset. With Jamie, it works. I think that is because Jamie's uses the native O2 Phone, but PDAVIET uses the new HTC-style Phone interface..?

I hated Jamie's UI design. Any ideas how to solve this? I tried reinstalling PDAVIET's OS only on JAMIE's ROM but that causes my network wizard to malfunction... sad.gif

Both also are good roms but i prefer PDAVIET because i experienced some auto off issues with Jaime's rom. It's not to say it's a downgrading because both the roms are more or less same. It depends on your preference too.

Jaime's is also blue. The difference could be seen in the scroll icon (Home, contacts, settings) where PDAVIET's is larger.

About the soft reset hangups, i did experience it too with PDAVIET. Easy way, remove the battery and put back. Somehow it seems to work after that.  biggrin.gif

Hope it helps.

Thank you. That helps, though I loved the PDAVIET's design. Jaime's icons are a bit too freaky. PDAVIET's just right. Though what matters more is how to make PDAVIET work with my bluetooth. Can I disable phone-add on PDAVIET and use the native phone n contacts? I want my bluetooth.... sad.gif

Sorry i made a mistake with the Bluetooth. I connected it yesterday but i did not test. Now i tried and it's not working.  sad.gif

We need to ask some sifu here to help because it's my 8th day using this ROM.

You are using PDAVIET right? Theory time: PDAVIET apparently replaces Phone UI with a new one with the ROM. That replaces the native phone that can handle Bluetooth headset. Jamie's on the other hand, only skin the thing. Am I right? I've posted in XDA-Dev forums but yet to receive any answer. Any1 else with the same issue with PDAVIET?

Yes, PDAVIET. I'm not so sure about the part in bold. Let me try to find out for solutions.

The funny part is i remember sending some stuff to my sister's phone via bluetooth and it worked.
*
Well, here's my theory. The default keypad is the greenish pad when we booted up and SIMCARD pass was asked. This is the native dialer interface (when i say phone, i mean the dialer-only application/module that receives call/get outgoing calls). When using Jaime's, he only skinned this dialer but at software level its the same basic come-with-the-default-o2 dialer module.

On PDAVIET, there is another layer of dialer that handles the phone module. A new dialer that handles the calls into that app, handles the calls, records, contacts. Only saves the list into the systems db, but app is different. So I think this new HTC-like dialer is not compatible with the Bluetooth module.

Thats is pretty much my theory based on my comprehension of how O2, which is a Pocket PC that comes with a dialer. We have to ask other people who have installed PDAVIET and has a working paired bluetooth headset to know more about this issue I guess...

Your theory sounds sensible. I can't seem to post in the PDAVIET forum because it's in Vietnamese. In the XDA developers, i can't seem to find a forum for PDAVIET with atom exec. I think a few users in this thread are using PDAVIET but for atom life and they have not complained about bluetooth.

That means u have changed back to Jaime's now because the bluetooth is not working? When i used Jaime's rom, the bluetooth wasn't a problem.
*
I'm not sure. I'm torn. Holding my breath. Jaime's interface is too amateurish n neon-ish. The icons look weird too. PDAVIET looks like a pro designed it. And PDAVIET looks more stable... sad.gif

I already tried using Jaime's ROM and installed PDAVIET OS-only mode, but that didn't work... PDAVIET still forces me to use its dialer instead of the native dialer.

Don't worry, i'm sure we can find a solution. Yes, i prefer PDAVIET anytime over Jaime's too. Normally the developers will solve this small problems when someone reports it. The only problem now is finding the exact thread. Btw, the thread in Vietnamese, i converted it to English but no one mentioned anything about bluetooth.

Ok, i'm gonna post in the PDAVIET site about the problem soon. Let's see if there is any reply.
*
So u going to post English in a Vietnamese site or you just translate your text from English->Viatnemese and post? LOL. I wonder how weird the translated post that would sound.
Noticed another thing, usually the signal in Today Page would show MY MAXIS, but mine keep on displaying Searching... even though it already found and I'm already on the phone for quite a while.

K waiting for any responses!

i reverted back to Jaime for the sake of Bluetooth Headset. There's a big flaw though, I can't seemed to make 2 calls with bluetooth. After pushing the hangup button on the BT Headset, the 2nd call will be muted or s'thing. Calls can be made but can't hear anything... sigh. I'm trying to change the Manila2D to replace Jaime's default theme...

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=425974

No luck yet... Can't find out how exactly can i change the default theme... I dled the customizer but it can't find/add any themes.

New update: I decided to reflash my phone with a clean ROM, and the new clean ROM has no issues whatsoever with Bluetooth, though I can't get Manilla2D to work when installing manually. Kept asking me to tap the screen to launch, but then nothing. Using M2DC also doesn't help. sad.gif All the other apps, I had to find manually and reinstall. Managed to find a bunch of them from the Extended ROM list, except a working HTC album...

bluetooth, apparently, is a A2DP issue. I am using a stock ROM for the previous weeks but right now giving another shot to PDAVIET's. There's no point in buying a customizable phone if i'm using a stock ROM isn't it? Hehe. I'm going to dive into the whole registry editing stuff after this!
