I really dont know what is this problem all about as a search through Nvidia website turns up nothing. When I launch WMP, it will hang almost straight away and I have to restart it a few times to get it running. When I click on Check Solution, it says that Nvidia nForce Network Controller is the culprit. Any sifu around please help. Thanks.

Lol... I have had a few friends having the same 'nForce controller problem'...
One of their solutions is to NOT use the Windows Update offered (if any)nForce Controller driver... rather, the one that came with your comp / old driver version.

I am very sure it is in Control Panel > Add Remove Programs... Install the drivers that CAME with your computer... it is old, but that's the point.

The disc(s) that came with your computer when you bought it... it should be on a CD / DVD for 'Installation utilities'. If you remove it, yes, the nForce drivers are gone, but you can install them again. You just need to use the old drivers.

So, can I assume that the CD/DVD that you mention is my windows Vista installation disc? Or its my GC Driver disc. Thanks for your advice.

Since I assumed it to come with the software utilities for your laptop, I kinda think you need to download the drivers yourself. Anyways, since its getting complicated, just (I hate to say this) use a different media player software.

Whenever a program stop by itself and I click to check what is the problem, it will return with this nForce issues thingy. I want to uninstall it but afraid of its repercussion and cause even more serious problems. Advice from all sifu is really needed here. Thanks in advcance.

Just uninstall the old drivers. Windows Update might detect the hardware again, and even give you the update. You'll need to google around for the nForce drivers.
