erm..... i tink ESP has one. Started pack (do some research online about it on their site or something).... yamaha has one too. Most music shops should sell these started packs.

- Harmony music DU uptown
- Music shops (both of them) in 1Utama (near pizza hut) sells it

the quality of those items aren't very good though.

well, most starter pack comes with lousy amp and guitar. that's why it's not good. at rm1.5k, you can get a better amp+guitar combo.

for the ibanez starter pack rite, the guitar is one from their GIO range.. which is the cheapest and lowest end of Ibanez guitars. So for your budget which is RM1500, if you really want an Ibanez, you can definitely get one from the bigger brother RG series.

Maybe an RG321? smile.gif
plus an amp of your choice? Microcube seems to be the hottest practice amp here in this forum, but best is you try it out yourself smile.gif

and the picture in your avatar is dawn i think. singaporean blogger. haha

em....u wanna play 'heavy', you should get those amps with those distortion presets. Like roland's cube amps have a knob that allows you to toggle between clean, overdrive, distortion, metal, and metal stack if im not mistaken.....

i wouldn't recommend starter packs coz the amps they give you will definitely suck and you won't be able to generate a variety of sounds compared to those amps with preset sounds. Since your budget is about 1K, I'd recommend getting:
- Roland cube15
- some cheap guitar. I saw a les paul in harmony music for RM420. Total it up also probably under 1K and you get MUCH more (sound quality-wise) compared to the starter packs.

Ibanez, fender, epiphone, etc. are all pretty popular brands, and they'll cost MUCH more. They probably sound better than other imitations, but I've come across really cheap imitation guitars which sound just as good (or better) than many of these other brands.

I'd suggest a Stagg PRS Custom 24 copy and a Vox ad-series amp either the VT or the VTXL series (i would suggest 15-30 watts)

The guitar should set you back about 800 and the amp bout 600, negotiate a little and probably get everything thrown in at bout 1.5k.

nope, not an Epi. It's some.....unknown imitation brand. But that doesn't mean it can't sound good. Well when I went there I tested it on one of their higher end amps (not roland), which comes with many additional settings like delay, flanger, chorus, etc.. Sounded pretty decent

Harmony music is located in Damansara Uptown (Damansara Utama). If you know where the 'Ship' restaurant is, its just 2 - 3 doors down. If you can get yourself to uptown, just ask anyone there, they'll know where the ship is.
