Pre-ordered mine through Gamestop. Waiting for my key to arrive and might cancel my order if its out of stock.

Gameplay overall is really fun, there is no limit on how you create your hero, all thanks to the Framework which allow you to mix and match on the powersets.

Graphically, its tailored for XBOX360 but you get to optimize it for high FPS gameplay.

If i would have to compare to City of Heroes / Villains, CO stands up brightly in terms of customization, server management as well as combat system.

You dont just stand there and pew pew, smash smash and get humped. Instead, you get to move while attack, giving advantage to your combat. Best is you play it with a gamepad. I am playing it with keyboard so all my fingers is in use while fighting.

Simply said, if you have played Champions RPG, you would find CO identical to whats on the pen and paper RPG. If you played CoX for long time, you would find CO a new home which have less grind (so far).

@ImUrDaddY, server is located in LA. Latency was so-so during beta but may improve on launch.

Head start in one hour and i have yet to receive my key sob sob sad.gif

True, latency was nuts during CB, was very smooth during OB and i should expect something better during launch.

Edit : got my key biggrin.gif

I would say very smooth on the network part despite some rough performance on a full shard. I manage to get a good 308ms on peak and 278ms on off-peak.

On client side performance, its all about visual tweaking to have a fun playing experience.

Otherwise, its all smooth. The head start launch is a great success and hoping for the same on the official launch later tonight @ 1am. Besides all the good stuff, the bad stuff is on pets and action figures path finding some known bugs on certain framework.

There is another release date slated for September 10th but its an Australian version.

Server in Australia better ping?
*
Do not get confused, there is no server in Australia. What was announced is the availability of box retail of Champions Online in Australia. Everyone connects to one server which is located in LA.

@spacelion : desert is fun but Grond tends to be quite distrubing. I picked Canada due to the zombies over there (L4D anyone? tongue.gif)

@gafun : My ping hovers from 300ms ~ 378ms, sometimes it shoots up to 400ms. When i tried Jaring line for CO, the ping was good, 266ms ~ 302ms.

tsb.com.my have Champions Online listed : http://www.tsb.com.my/product.cfm?id=1566&cid=3&pc=1

pcgame.com.my have it too : http://www.pcgame.com.my/product_info.php?...roducts_id=2488

Most likely we might be getting the game during mid of September. If you cant wait, Direct2Drive is the best place to buy it digitally.

Urgh, can't wait for local stores to list these items for sale :S . Had to get them from D2D. The dark calling of another MMO is too strong for my resistance.
*
Yeah, i couldnt wait either and wanted the Cryptic Points, so i bought from gamestop.com. GF was soooo pissed when i did that tongue.gif The money was actually meant to bring her out but instead spent on those.

i found this site. Sell CO for Rm80.

http://www.onlinekeystore.com/Champions-On...alDownload.html

Is this real? or it just a scam?
*
Its only CDkey they are selling and nothing else. That is why its cheap and they will have to call you up to verify the purchase. IF you use someone else credit card to buy, they will need to talk to the credit card owner for verification.

hey hey hey....say tomorrow...now already 5 days after deadline...where's ur post?

pls let us know the latency of the game as well...thanx  smile.gif
*
lol you did count the days didnt you tongue.gif. Partly i was so addicted to the game and partly due to my portfolio is calling for an update so i am pretty much occupied these days.

The latency goes from 389ms ~ 420ms and there is no obvious lags in-game and the ping readings is from in-game command. You may get better respond with Jaring line but i have yet to have one to try.

If anyone have Jaring account, do kindly ping nettest.crytpicstudios.com

The last few patches fixed alot of performance issues from client side latency(UI, FPS issues) to server side latency(networking).

Bland?!! Well, i am aware that Champions Online did brew some of the loudest whiners in MMO history but the game is pretty fun from my experience.

Content is still very little* but once you hit level 25, the Nemesis is where you will find it very adventurous. You get to create your own Nemesis and you will get world clue of his/her villain actions and go counter it.

Customization is superior to date and none could compete it and its parred with Aion and Perfect World.

*little as in there is some gaps that is needed to be filled. The leveling pace is very smooth but sometimes you need to find some gap fillers to reach the next level and its content.

Dont take Bill Roeper as the cause of the fall of Hellgate.

Hellgate fell were due to the development of the game didnt turn out as expected and its too buggy to be fixed and the failure isnt all on Roeper but on the developer.

The fixes and changes in Champions Online is going very well despite all those whine and cries.

I find that all previous patches made the game more challenging than being a god in there.

Ignore those complains, the game is still continue receiving updates and fixes to current problem before they start to roll out content. I get to play the whole day and the downtime usually starts from 5pm to 7pm (local time).

I think its the ISP that caused the "blockage" to access to CO, yeah, try it when you come back to KL.

Heh, its slow at the first few levels, it will pickup as you gain more powers.

Graphic wise, turn off Bloom, turn off shadow, uncheck screen space ambient occlusion, set reflection to low. It still maintain some of the eyecandy sans the extra ones.

I do play CO on a laptop too, a workstation one even (Dell M90) with Quadro FX card and managed to run the game with medium shadow with those listed above disabled. Bloom is the one that could make you blind on most well location and uses up the most horsepower. SSAO is next in the list where it give a dimmer, shadow outline to the objects rendered within the screen vicinity. Any off-screen objects will be ignored.

You still can, if you have activated with credit card and deleted the payment info, you can still play for the rest of the day till the 30 days ends. This method applies to all P2P MMOs.
