Actually the only thing that matters is your aperture. The starry effect is caused by a very small aperture. Shutter speed doesn't do anything smile.gif Light travels much much faster than 1/4000s smile.gif

light gets diffracted by the blades giving a spreaded light effect ie. stars with how many points depends on how many blades ur lens has... u can experiment with different settings on your cam to see the effect it gives.
