use 1500+ (ill go for 4000) sand paper with soapy water. be sure to do sanding by follow the texture. any further sanding will expose the aluminum to air and will create clogged oxide in future.

4000 grit sand paper will give good result... if you cant handle brasso or autosol very well u can go for toothpaste.
