And you can't update from itunes once you've jailbreak your iphone right?
i'm not sure if i want to do it, because it's illegal..

unfortunately I am unable to help because I did not Jailbreak my FW 2.1 but just upgrade to it with a image that already JB already.

jackdon, it not we want to bash, but if you run though the achieve, u can see how many topic similar is opened, and how many similar answer is given,

we even got the tutorial to guide pawn, just 5 to 10 minute to search is better than waiting ppl reply you?

If you do follow the above, u have to bear with whatever happens to your phone may it be unbootable etc.

Anyway, Just JB'ed a 3G iphone and took only 15 minutes. Another 3G iphone to the darkside..

ya.. try that.. u guys have the choice to either help or ignore.. we dont wanna send the wrong message out - i.e. "iphone users are unfriendly, unhelpful"

I understand that people that are in need of help with their iPod/iPhone wants fast answers, but if you want faster answers.. try search around the sub-forum for similar problems/threads. It's way faster to find out the answers for your questions when you find it out yourself.

This happen everywhere not that I approve but it is not easy being a noob. I remember when I had my first iphone about two months back. I read and read and search and search. Still blur..... but for me it is OK because I have been patching my Palm Treo Firmware and my HP HX4700 PDA ROM upgrade plenty of time so I was not that scare to proceed even though I knew I would screw up and True enough I did. JailBreak DFU are BIG WORDS and all those horror BRICK IPHONE stories can make a noob shivers with fear. And when a noob post a question in a local forum call lowyat.net and he got bash right left and centre. It makes us look more like a bunch of snobes.

As what our master davidgary73 said... we can always ignore and maybe start another interesting thread.
