VO = Variation Order
It's mean for work carried out that not specified in the contract.

BTW how come TS paid for VO before all works complete? Normally VO will not be paid in full.

You are wasting your time if you think that will help. Ur claim is against the co, the contractor can just set up new co. under his grandmother name.

The simple way is look for him and bash him out... If u could find him in the 1st place.

I was very mad initially same as you. but what to do? Learn from this lesson.

Contractor mobile number also change... what to do?

if its a freelance contractor then of course difficult. those with sdn bhd or enterprise its worth the try. u ask for answers, this is one option you can consider. of course the amount you want to claim also needs to be worth the time n effort otherwise take it as a lesson n move on....

I'm wondering...is my case (engaging a contractor to build a house) fall under the category of "homebuyer" which i could report to Tribunal for Homebuyer Claims?

As a precaution, before engaging a contractor, tell him that you'll retain 5% of the total cost until 1-2 months after completion (to make sure that they come back to rectify problems that do not surface immediately).

If they do not agree, look for another contractor. Better safe than sorry

Yes, the contractor did gv me resit for the payment i paid to them. Now i'm trying to get back the retention $$ to finish up the incomplete works. But still unable to cover the VO $ paid the contractor.
