I'm currently staying in terrace hse, receiving parcels is so easy
Sooner, I'll be moving to apartment n i need to receive parcels regularly
Can apartment stayer share ur experience here?
Will the postman call the recepient to come down? Or they'll just pass it to the guard?
Many thanks in advance

I am now living at 14th floor of an apartment, most of the time, the courier agent will take lift come up and ring my doorbell. I just open the door, sign my name and that's all.
Don't worry TS. smile.gif

Normally, postman will leave the card in the postbox, they never bother to go your house to deliver it. It's happen to me for almost 5 years already no matter either it's a parcel or just a registered letter.

The last one happen on last Tuesday (before the raya), on Monday night, I already collect my letter from the postbox, nothing left inside. I was preparing to go back to hometown on Tuesday morning, so I really sure no one knock my door that morning. At 9:30am, I went down, check the postbox again, there a card for me to collect a registered letter together with some other letter. I quite surprise, the date on card is on Monday and I can collect the on Tuesday (mean that day).

Look like they already prepare the card one day earlier and put the letter in their storage box. On the next day, just put the card in the postbox. I don't bother to complaint when I collect my letter, I was in hurry to go back hometown. Even thou I complaint, for sure they will said, they try to deliver to my house already on Monday.

I think postman will keep doing something like this even if people complaint about it. Imagine, in one day, one postman need to send 20 - 30 parcel or registered letter to a place only have apartment (like in Bandar Tasik Pemaisuri), he will take hours to deliver all. By putting the card in the postbox, he will save a lot of time.

I am not sure about the situation for letter or even registered letter.
What I mention on my previous post in all based on Poslaju or parcel from other courier company like GDex, Skynet and etc.

Courier, poslaju, registered letter - postman is supposed to come to your door. Normal parcels, they're supposed to leave at your mailbox.

If you're living in a terrace house, and the parcel does not fit in your postbox, the postman will call for you to come out and get it; instead of leaving it at the road side or just chucking it over the gate. smile.gif I'm sure if you don't come out, they will leave that same card in your post box. The card that says come get your letter.

Of course there are exceptions. Lazy people who "prepare" the card in advance instead of doing a proper delivery. My work place is above a retail shop (owned by the same company) that is opened 365 days a year. Yet, a few times every year, we will get cards telling us to come pick up registered letters at the post office. This will be mixed with the regular mail.

The answer is YES. I'm staying at 15th floor & postman will ring my door bell to call me sign & get the airmail from him. whistling.gif

If you are not available, then he will leave a love card to call you go post office grab it by your own. wub.gif
