There is NB Frequency option somewhere on the TA790GX..Find it.

go to tseries->cpu fid/vid ctrl->adjuz the nb fid .. so lowering it down

for nb multi to be effective (as what u've set in bios), u gotta do a cold boot(shutdown). not restart. this is what u'll do, set d desired multi, save & exit. press d power button when ya system start postin. leave it few seconds, then boot into windows, voila... u got ya nb multi changed... 

lol.. i just read sumwhere bout cold boot last nite, then i sleep infront of computer with winamp open, kanak2 game i play,

u'll luv d board once ur comfortable w/ it, d only drawback (for me) is d position of cmos jumper. it's located rite below d primary pcie 16x slot. kinda troublesome if u need to clear cmos. 

imo, d clear cmos jumper should be placed near d external start/reset buttons, it's d most accessible area. 
biostar = decent oc + value for $$$. if biostar = geng, then what u'll say bout dfi (yes, i'm one bias b@st@rd  ) or asus or foxconn?   

get a gx a2+, it's a decent oc board that won't burn holes in ya wallet, else, dfi ftw... 

Guy's just need ur opinions ah, i'm thinkin of getting me a Phenom 9850BE + Biostar TA790GXAM2+...
Are these component a good combo??
I don't really wanna spend too much eg. above RM3xx~400 on mobo's ler..

Which place is selling the TA790GX 128M at RM355??

i doubt there'll be big diff in price for d 2, most likely RM20~30 cheaper only. but heck, why pay more if u don't really use d sideport mem rite? to be honest, asus seems to be more powa in oc now (thanks to it's new 790fx + sb750 & not forgettin d 8 + 2 power phase      ). it's still too early to judge thou coz dfi just launched their new series of board not so long ago. built quality wise, asus win hands down (asus @ 8+2 vs dfi & others @ 4+1), but that indicates more $$$ needed too... 
d combo will do just fine, all u need to do is to sink d mosfets if u plan to oc d b.e chip, which all of us know are hotter than those 95w phenoms. 

Oh yer, to all Biostar TA790GX users, do u have any prob with heat at the mosfets coz from the pics on the net the mobo doesn't have any heatsink or any cooling solution on the mosfet..
Kinda scare if it goes kaboom or something if i o/c..

but so sad, calling my gf, but she didnt remember today is my birthday , got free credit that why call until 1 hours, but she keep me jeolous only with dating with other guy

that's d fun part of oc... if u want hassle free oc then u mite consider other option... 

u can place ya gfx at pci-e x16 slot 2 (d upper one) while findin d max clock of ya setup, 8x @ pci-e 2.0 (u gotta enable it in bios) aint too bad mah... save u lotsa trouble removin d card over & over again just to clear d cmos. optionally u can ask anyone w/ small fingers in ya place to set d jumper for u... 

i got big thumb that's why i was so frustrated everytime i need to clear cmos (back then)...     

mod the cmos reset jumper with a cd-rom cable (for audio 1 )
