the WD black should be better in performance, and also in terms of warranty. seagate is 3 years warranty only nowadays. do correct me if i'm wrong.

Which is the best software to monitor HDD temperature? Using WD Black and WD Green here.
And is it better to put OS (which will be the primary harddisk) in my 1TB Black or 500GB Green?
As for the secondary harddisk, I will store mostly .exe files, videos, pictures, musics. Downloaded files will also be saved directly into the secondary harddisk. So which harddisk is better to be used as the secondary harddisk?
*
if for me i'll use the black as the OS disk, and then the green as storage disk. coz you mentioned that you're just gonna store files inside.

there's some software that can help you recover your files, provided that you didn't save anything on the hard disk after you format. but i can't remember what's the name of the software doh.gif

if you store a lot of medias, i think it's better not to use RAID instead, coz if anyhow one of the disk fails, all your media will go down the drain.
that is if you're running RAID striping* (i think tongue.gif) on your hard disks.

no it shouldn't crash no matter how many hdds you run. most probably due to your power supply.

need  some opinion

lets say i have 1TB hdd.. which 1 is the best way to use it, is't make only 1 partition for all or multiple partitions?&reason?
*
i would suggest multiple partitions, so it would be easier if you need to reformat in case something happens. just reformat the affected partition will do. if single partition you have to reformat the whole drive, and move all your files somewhere else. that would be quite a hassle i think wink.gif

IMHO i don't really think that's necessary. I'm using the normal WD Green drive and have been downloading 24/7, so far everything's been fine. I'm sure others members here are also the same wink.gif

you can use hard disk cloning program, like norton ghost or acronis disk image. it creates an exact image of your old hard disk and saves it into your new hard disk.

not sure if it's the hard disk problem, but you can change the internal hard disk to a bigger capacity one, dont need to follow back the same specs.
