samsung turning hdd marketing pricing upside down. while intel turning ssd marketing price upside down.

Well, future, i was hoping to grab one SSD for system booting. let's hope intel will continue to forcing the price to drop down to hdd pricing.

maybe something like 160gb for RM200~300.

160GB for RM200-300, might need long wait.

Until now, there is no sign of massive dropdown of SSD price, even though there is news about this year end, there would be 50% drop in SSD, but it just merely they double the capacity, but price remain almost same, the so call 50% reduction is not in price.

well, it's still a 50% reduction.

For now 1GB cost around RM15.

Later 1GB cost around like RM7.5.

That's a huge improvement.

If that's the case, kingston and other brand will also be making changes unless they wanted to be left behind.

Ordinary consumer doesn't want this.

As current 80GB SSD cost RM700-900 to own one as compared sub Rm200 for ordinary HDD as OS hardisk in a new built.
The difference is too huge and costly to ordinary consumer market.

What most like to see is 80GB price drop down 50% to Rm300-400 range, which become more affordable.
Not the like 160GB cost Rm700 (same with 80GB previously) but 80GB they obsolete it instead the price drop 50% to Rm300-400.

Ordinary consumer just want SSD for as OS disk to capitalise its performance.
People are not interested in using SSD as a storage disk.

SSD advantage is when you use it as OS disk as you will see significant improvement in performance. A 80GB is more than sufficient to use a OS main disk. That's why prefer to see the 80GB price drop 50%, instead, they increase the capacity to 160GB, but price remain the same.

It is a bad choice for storage purpose due to the cost.
