I need to install Microsoft Office on my cousin's laptop (Windows XP)..

which is better...2003 (RM 580) or 2007 (RM 680).. hmm.gif

i got these prices on lelong.com.my

his laptop's spec:
Twinmate NC-8x
AMD Geode LX 800, 500MHz
8" 800x480 resolution LCD

if i buy either one (my cousin's money la)..can i copy or make iso then use daemon tool to thumdrive/external hdd cause this laptop don't have cd-drive ?

and then i install it to my comp brows.gif ..that means 2 user..is it possible?

With that tiny resolution, I'd say go for 2003. But wait, 2007 can hide the ribbon menu. Wha-

with that PC spec, Office 2003 is recommended. Scrolling the screen would be a painful task though, coz both Office versions are targetted for at least a SVGA resolution (800x600).

Due to your low power CPU, Office 2003 is a better choice.

Something like this.

It would take longer to load Office 07 given the specs of the laptop, but trust me, people like Office 03 because they are used to it. I used to be like one of them, but i'll never want to revert to Office 03 after i've seriously tried 07.

once you get used to it, it’s actually a good user experience

you should read about it: http://blogs.msdn.com/jensenh/pages/table-of-contents.aspx

Go for Office 2003.....
Your processor speed is not suitable for office 07's operation...
n your monitor reso, like wht they said, not suitable for ribbon menu...

As for me....i m lovin office 07!

I find Office 2007's ribbon menu is a bit annoying as I'm used to the old office shortcuts (I've been using Office since uh let me guess...back in the golden' era of 95). I guess it takes a little bit of using it

It depends , if your friend is soo used to the old office , stick with the old one. Thats my recommendation

i'll suggest you go for the 03 version. i'm currently using MS Office 07 with vista x64, everything is smooth but hate the new tab arrangement...

If money is not a problem, get a more decent laptop that comes with MS Office 2007(I think most laptops now comes with it if you choose pre-installed Windows, or maybe they will give some really good discount), easiest and best solution! rclxms.gif
