if you willing to pay extra more and must get locally, then head to Garage Sales perhaps you will find your way out...
If not... try to find a way to get it from S'pore... which will save lots more hassle, don't you think so ?

@ricky
Unlock and jailbreak are two different things. And yes, do some research first.

don't mind me ricky88. but have you thought of warranty issues if the phones which you have purchased are faulty.
the prospective winners are sure to ask for a receipt if they do encounter mishaps. you cannot possibly tell them to fly to the country of origin for that purpose? you cannot in return put a disclaimer that your company will not be held liable for such encounters. if even you insist on doing that, how well will that look on your organisation's image?

Apparently i was told that if i bring it into a Apple retail store in KL/PJ, they will help coordinate singapore to service the iphone. Will double check on this again. May buy apple extended warranty to cover this.

QUOTE(ricky88 @ Oct 5 2008, 12:14 AM) Apparently i was told that if i bring it into a Apple retail store in KL/PJ, they will help coordinate singapore to service the iphone. Will double check on this again. May buy apple extended warranty to cover this. if i have read correctly before (not applicable in the states of course), the network provider will be handling the service and maintenance. hence for example in singapore, if your singtel unit is indeed faulty, it will be a one to one exchange. therefore, it is imperative for us (or traders in general) to check the product and model numbers before purchasing. iphone 3Gs may originate from the same factory, but the variation of these product and model numbers do not deviate. and i have not heard of apple extended warranty being applied on iphones before. because if it does, i wouldn't mind purchasing an additional 3 years for mine and subsequently increasing the market value of my unit. a reality check need to be applied in a product which has not be launched locally and officially.
