I've recently purchased 4 gb of RAM for my laptop, which is currently using vista 32bit. I found out that this os does not support up to 4gb, and that i need to use a 64bit version of vista to fully utilize the 4gb....so here's my question:

Is there a definite way to be sure my laptop can support a 64bit version of vista? Because i heard that not all processors can support 64bit.
and if it can't, is there a way to somehow divert the unused RAM to my gc?

Please advise.

Thanks in advance. smile.gif

yes u should "see" 3gb being registered. pls send your complete specs and model, brand, etc.
else u can also go online to your lappie's manufacturer website to check for compatibility

I'm using an Acer 4930g. Below are the specs:

Intel Centrino 2 C2D p7350
Mobile Intel PM45 express chipset
250gb hdd
2gb ram
using vista home premium 32bit

Tried checking out the site...there are drivers for 64bit hardware...so does that mean this lappie can support 64bit?
