I got the point something 10 gauge and I find the fingerpicking easier but strumming not so nice the sound....I was wondering if it was the gauge, or the brand, or the material....or all three

strumming as in the body of the sound a little thin?
maybe .10 is a little light for you.

brands of course do play a part in it, but not always.

what brand are u using btw?

Err, I think thin would be right. Should I go for the .12 or .13 next? i plan to change in like a few months time... I'm really more into strumming than picking (mostly because my picking is terrible  blush.gif )
I'm using the D'addario 20/80 bronze. But maybe I'll try phosphor next round.

well i guess it really boils down to preference and of course the sound from your very own guitar.
u have to experiment around a few times to get the perfect gauge to suit u n your guitar.
but since u prefer strumming, (michelle branch?) i think u would prefer abit heavier gauges.

So, you're more to finger picking stuff ?
Could be just me, but for picking stuff, i'll always go for 'rounder' or 'fatter' sound.

all depends on playing style, personality and of course the song biggrin.gif

Fast fret not so recommended for acoustic strings.
By day 3 you'll hear masking of the 2 steel strings. Well, it happened once when I used D'addarios so.... I never really used them again.
In fact my fast fret, has been missing for awhile, I just rememebered bout it lol

haha really ah? i duno wor. me using bass and they're really expensive (rm90-120).

so its really important to take care of them. i thought guitar players also used fast fret?

the only problem is, once there's rust and it kena the fast fret, means die alreadi. haha coz then u're spreading it to the next set of strings, and the next. sweat.gif

thats why. kinda pointless actually.

more a marketing gimmick. unless u change for about 20guitars a day. then it will make a difference.

i have it sitting in my case.
