My suggestion is to go for a phosphorbronze coated strings- D'Addario is fine but i personally like Martin strings but they dont have phosphor bronze but the tone is very nice The problem is you need to change it quite often. Look to change once every 3 months but if you are a performer than they change every performance!!. None of the above mentioned this but personally I use the services of a Luthier. Personally a good luthier will improve the sound of the guitar and you will be surprised with the difference of sound above being done by them. You also need to know about truss rods and if you know how to adjust them will help you in maintenance of your guitar

You only do it when you break one string while others are new. Change the whole set and once broken change gauge and company but dont buy the hightest gauge and most expensive but let common sense dictate and your ears. Choose a sensible priced ones based on the type , cost of the guitar and most of all have a lovely time playing late at night
