Microsoft Launches Website for New Xbox Experience
Check out some videos showing what to expect from the 360 dashboard reboot.

user posted image

Microsoft still hasn't given an exact release date for when the "New Xbox Experience" dashboard overhaul will be released, but if you want to get an early impression of what to expect (coated in a delicious glaze of Microsoft's promotional exaltations), then head over to their new website-- itself modeled on the new navigation method coming in the update -- that's filled with videos that do just that.
Among the promotional videos to watch are an overall recap of what the new features will include (hosted by none other than Xbox Live GM Marc Whitten and Xbox Live corporate vice president John Schappert), as well as videos specifically showing off the new friends features, and how the Avatars work. That Avatar video, by the way, has the tag-line "Dress yourself up, or go a little wild," which at least seems to indicate the ability for virtual streaking, but it's more likely just an unfortunate choice of words.

Again, there's still no release date, but a recent rumor indicated this overhaul would go live in November. We'll have more on the New Xbox Live Experience soon, so stay tuned.

tomorrow evening? isn't it coming in november? i think i read that somewhere lah. i was wondering if somehow this can mean that we can buy videos, tv shows, and movies from the U.S. if it's possible to do that, i would gladly buy an elite, just for the bigger hard drive.

i don't think so. the best we can get here is trailers and previews.
all you get is "this item is not available in your location"

Isn't anyone excited about the feature that allows you to pop in your DVD game disc and install it ! No more drive spin !! rclxms.gif No more noise !! Bring on 2-disc RAGE... and Forza 3...

Also...

I 'read' somewhere Microsoft is trying super hard to get it out October 28, 2008

But November would be a much more realistic target.

OMG, NXE is coming !!!

The dashboard is uber cool.... and OF COZ... the new one is way better than the blades...

i'm pretty dang sure that it will ease up your dvd drive.
70% of the game will be in the hdd,so if your dvd drive is dyING(still alive, just reall retarded),you should still be able to play some games if you install it.

what i'm gonna try is install my fifa 08,because i left it in when bringing my xbox around sweat.gif
but yeah, this new xbox experience is gonna rock.pity the theme just doesn't suit xbox.
i mean it does, just, well, from the games coming out(lots aimed at older audiences),this just feels too kiddy and wii-y

Ya the dvd drive just to rectify the game when start only. So it will be useful for drive dying ( like me ). But with less then 20gb space, i think can only put 2 - 3 games maybe? But for me GoW 2 must be in laugh.gif

Xbox still beat ps3 unless Ps3 start it's function as multi tasking. You can't listen music while playing game for ps3 which is bad. cry.gif

as we saw on the video on the earlier release, it's not like install some part of the game into the hdd, it copy all the content of the disc. 1 game around 7gb, 2 games would be 14gb, only 600mb left for DLC's,saves, demos, and system needs. LOL.
