QUOTE(lynxs @ Sep 29 2008, 12:31 PM)
how so do u mean? and would it make that much f a difference? we are talking about a phone camera anyways.....

thnx
*
what i mean is the software implemented in the phones for camera. and yes, i know we are talking about cameraphone... none of wat is said previously were about digital camera. and then, the imaging software is about how it captures the image, the details, the noise level, compression.. and all sort of things which lead to a decent photosnapping. if not, why would a normal pns camera also have ranges when they can have only one model to cater all?

here, E66 is business phone, hence imaging software is not well tuned, which leads to poor performances. comparing back to N82 or N95, its imaging is much better when look into the detail, colour reproduction, noise level and so on. u might say it is equipped with Carl Zeis which i think it is not really relevant, but if u compare with N80's 3mp, i would say N80's takes better image. *i am comparing those photo's via gsmarena. please take note ya. smile.gif

p/s:i am not saying e66 sucks; i personally like how E66 features which makes like a one stop solution for business executives.

So if u dun get my point, why dont we see pictars... people say, pictar worth a thousand words...

Seaedge,

I was pretty surprise of the captured images as well until I found out that the firmware was updated. However, I still cant confirm whether they did improve the image processing in this new firmware, but comparison between the images does prove something...  biggrin.gif

one thing for sure, that they remove the tint in the photo that the previous firmware had. besides that, the image looks abit sharper than previous one.

Ya, notice all the reviews mentioned a kinda bluish tint on the output images. In the new firmware, colour processing seems really improved. However, I failed to find any changelogs on the firmware releases...anyone successful in finding the changelogs?

Another question...any one can describe wad does EV (Exposure Value) do in camera? Thks

ck... next time u can find uncle wiki for answer ya... tongue.gif

hehehhe.. sorry but that is what i usually do if i dont know whats the meaning of certain things...

however, you u are hardworking enough, you should just take pictar of the same subject& condition with different ev setting.. and you will get better picture of what is EV about.

well, tech gadgets memang like that..a phone can be state-of-the-art today, but an antique tomorrow..

besides, i highly doubt that a full FP2 will make so much difference with FP1..coz they'll still be based on the same OS9.2 platform. Perhaps the most noticeable changes would be the animations, UI and useability improvements...whereas performance-wise will not differ much as they'll need to re-design a different system architecture for that.

hi everyone... i bought my e66 when they jus launched... but suppose i'm the unlucky one cos most of u guys are quite happy with yr purchase... have quite a bit of problems... the camera response time is very slow... pics don't appear after shooting... sometimes pic appear upside down after shoot... can't transfer any file to memory card... shows file is corrupted n ask to format memory card but still the same prob after formatting... send to zitron n they upgrade software but still can't resolve the camera issue... the technician told me my memory card even hang his computer... haha... so they change me a new memory card...
*
i sense abit of taichi from the zitron. does memory card comes bundled with the package?

erm... that is not common thing for symbian phone (as far as i have used symbians)..

It is best that you make a serious complain about your phone to higher level in zitron. if AP phone can perform without any problem, yours as a original phone shouldnt have such problem. besides, if it(memory card) comes original with the package, they also shouldnt say its memory fault and ask YOU to replace it. if i were you, i will look for higher management level and voice out the problem faced. that is why we buy original rather than AP. smile.gif and ask for a new unit rather than wait for repairs.

always look for manager level if things doesnt work it out. then only start using the word press conference, complaint to newpaper section or maybe tribunal? the best would be " See you in court! "... but make sure it is full with evidence against them ya...

IMHO the Symbian Browser is much better than the award-winning Opera browser  thumbup.gif ; especially the mouse and smart zoom feature.

Your phone so far no prob after hard-reset bro?

erm... i still find opera is good to use... especially mini opera. biggrin.gif tag IMHO!

Hmm, planning to get an e66 but can't make up my mind so need some input frm u guys.  Whtz the major difference between e66 and e71 (other than the rotation thing and minor fuctions). Can we sms while driving using e71 ( I know it's dangerous but no choice when rushing  biggrin.gif )? I'm a rough user would the slide in e66 last? By the way can u search ur contacts by company name using e66? Thanks in advance for the replies.  biggrin.gif
*
dun sms and drive since u know its dangerous. but since it sports keypad rather than touchscreen or qwerty keyboard, yes you can fairly sms simple msg.

as for searching companys name, i dun think that features available but i do know a trick, just put the company name infront of the contact name. sure helps me alot. smile.gif

I'm planning to get the E66. I'm using the 6680 now. Can i find out how do i transfer all my phonebook, sms/mms, pics, games, etc which is mostly in my memory card (old Mini SD, not newer Micro SD) to the new phone?

Btw, any recommended seller for Ori E66? Looking for one this weekend. Thanks.
*
old software might not be compatible that much as it is new OS. then for phonebook, i use MS Outlook to sync all contacts. for pics and music from old RS-MMC(6680 use rsmmc rather than miniSD) to MicroSD just use memory card reader enough lor.
