I'm planning to get the E66. I'm using the 6680 now. Can i find out how do i transfer all my phonebook, sms/mms, pics, games, etc which is mostly in my memory card (old Mini SD, not newer Micro SD) to the new phone?

Btw, any recommended seller for Ori E66? Looking for one this weekend. Thanks.
*
1. transfer frm old memory card to new memory card; OR
2. Use PC Suite to do full backup, thn restore at new phone; OR
3. E66 has a very very good n useful "Switch" tool used to transfer contacts etc btwn compatible phones

Can try Sunway or Subang Parade..or get frm one of our forum sellers here..

hate the battery power of this phone. 2 days have to recharge. heavy usage is not recomendded. esspecially wehn using text msg, wifi and all... adoi. got any third party battery that will last longer?

Added on October 15, 2008, 12:17 pmbut the looks of it attracts colleage and gurls. hahhaha...
*
ya..the battery is actually kinda a drawback..but charging once every 1-2 days is ok wit me. Dun think thr's any 3rd party apps for this, but future firmware may increase the battery life.. biggrin.gif

The looks is just amazing..I'm getting all kinds of attractions while attending meetings and appointments with my clients..especially the "flip to silent" feature; really amazed the others during meeting..wakaka laugh.gif

ck,

Do you know anyway I can transfer my sms and mms to my E66 from Ngage QD? I've lots of sms and mms from my GF blush.gif on the ngage QD
*
benzee,

Try use the feature "Switch". If it doesnt work, I believe you can transfer using PC Suite. Just synchronize with ur phone and transfer. icon_rolleyes.gif

Added on October 15, 2008, 9:35 pmbenzee,

Use the Backup feature in PC Suite. Confirm can. Quoted from the PC Suite User Guide:

"Nokia Content Copier allows you to back up your phone's contents on a PC. You can back up the entire contents, or select what you want to back up. You can restore the contents to the same phone model from which the backup was originally made, or import the contents to another Nokia phone model.

Possible content types include:

>>Contacts from the phone memory. If you have contacts stored on the SIM card only, first copy them to the phone memory to include them in the backup. For detailed instructions, see your phone's user guide.

>>Calendar and notes.

>>Messages (text messages, multimedia messages and emails)."

Tada !! thumbup.gif rclxms.gif

Well, the fact that it has a normal keypad, and it has accelerometer which enables you to flip the phone into Silent mode when there's an incoming call.

Will not be selling the E71 if I do get the E66, instead will use it side by side. tongue.gif
*
wah..so rich..envy ler..You can actually use this software > RotateMe to rotate the screen without accelerometer..But for "flip to silent", Im afraid only works with accelerometer. blush.gif

E71's Qwerty keypad very nice also ler..like mini Blackberry..hehe thumbup.gif

Wow..this is a Hard one..Can you use SE's software to copy all the contacts to your PC, then try to transfer to ur new phone via PC Suite? I think should be able to..

QUOTE(bluurpie @ Oct 16 2008, 10:24 PM)
For the interest of any users on SE phones moving to E66, I've found a solution in transferring the contacts after digging through the net. I'll share it here smile.gif

1. Copy the the .vcf file from System/Pim in the memory card of the SE phone (SE phones usually save the contacts in a single .vcf file if you chose to backup the contacts to the memory card)

2. Download the vcfsplitter software from here. It's free smile.gif

3. Read the readme file included in the software for the instructions to split the single .vcf file to multiple .vcf files of your contacts.

4. Import all the .vcf files in PC Suite and all the contacts should be transferred to your e66
I've done mine and it worked like a charm smile.gif

bluurpie,

a noob question here:

Is hard reset the same as format & reinstall the firmware?
*
it reformat the whole phone and restore your phone to the original state when you first bought it, but it doesnt reinstall the firmware

Hmm..I have some issues here.

1. I browsed the net and found that you can actually do an auto contact search by pressing the numbers in Home Sreen. However, mine doesn't work..only the numbers appear as I type but no search results shown.

2. Whenever I restarted the phone, an installation bar is shown. When the installation ends, a message stating that there's an unsafe content in memory card that is not installed and asked me to proceed to app. manager to have it installed.
Anyone encountered such problems?
*
Answer 1: The contact search feature in Home Screen only applies to Euro firmware. APAC firmware doesnt have this feature, and I dun understand why too. Hopefully the next firmware release will add this useful feature though biggrin.gif

Answer 2: What is the last application you have installed before this problem occurs? If you have .sis or .sisx files in your phone memory or memory card, this do happen as the phone scans the memory for installer files. Try to delete all the installer files.

which GPS is recommend on E66? i've install Garmin MTX but its asking for BT Connection. arent E66 was surpose to be GPS build in??

bro,

Garmin Mobile XT is meant to work with Garmin GPS Bluetooth Receiver only. Perhaps the internet has instructions on how to make it work with Internal GPS. Be hardworking enough to read through this whole thread and you might come across some "useful info".

if im not mistaken, this is because the ringtone section is associated with the music player..perhaps if the songs is not in music player, it wont appear in the ringtone section.

maybe best way is to remove memory card, then prob wont appear in ringtone section?
